Tenative May 7 date for me. I’ve been stalking this page for a while, but figured I’d sign up when I got my surgery date. I’m waiting for a peer to peer review before my insurance company will cover me. Fortunately my Surgeons staff has been very helpful in letting me schedule before we get final approval. This process has been considerably longer than I expected going in. I guess the additional time has given me the opportunity to do all the research I needed to make sure I’m making the right choice.

That's my day too! I start my pre-op one week diet on April 30th. I've had all my tests so I'm ready to go. I'm getting excited for the big day!

I know what you mean about the process taking longer than you expected. My first visit with the doctor was October 18th and I'm so glad that surgery is right around the corner. Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi Everyone!! I finally got my call from the doc office and I am officially scheduled for 5/21 for surgery and 5/2 for my pre op appt. I think my doc requires a 2 week Liquid Protein diet. Is that what everyone is doing? I am excited to get this party started! I can't wait to get my health back on track! Anyone with lower BMI (<37)?

Congratulations! My BMI fluctuates 36.5-37.5. I began my pre op diet yesterday, surgery 5/3/18. I very relieved to say that my diet is not Liquid Protein only. I have to do liquid Protein for Breakfast but can have lean meat or egg whites and as many vegetables as I want for both lunch and dinner. They're even allowing me 2 fruits a day, I was surprised about that. Today is my second day and, for me, I've been hungry until lunch.

Just want to let everyone know I've tried the Unjury brand vanilla and chocolate splendor flavors and they are delish! They're having a 10% discount on them that ends TODAY. If you're interested www.unjury.com I'm going to try making them and freezing for a frozen treat. They mix well and are not really thick, I think that's why so many have said they like this brand post op. There are other flavors but haven't tried them yet. I'll update.

As I told someone yesterday I tried my 1st Premier Protein yesterday. I had put a few packs on my in-game shelf, until someone tells me different, early May in my mind. Anyway,i slept,in yesterday morning, okay I confess, I had been up,too late reading and, posting on Bariatric Pal. Had a doctors appointment, with PCP, no,time for brekky so I grabbed a Peachs and Cream. Not bad ,not bad at all. Avery fait evaporated milk aftertaste. I think I could stand to drink these, but ask me again when I'm on them post surgery.Another thing worth a small chuckle-- right on the side of the Little milkcarton type container "not for use in weight reduction" who do they think they are fooling? At $7,27 a 4 pack who would be drinking, this besides us, maybevrinners and other atheletes? Soda is cheaper as well as a,milkshake at our old nemesis Mickey D. 😛

So they are doing my EDG May 11 and surgery the 25th or the 30th. This hurry up and weight so the weight will hurry up and go is making me nuts! I have been cutting out sugar and cutting way back on caffeine and I have been a bear. My son said he is about ready to hand me a twinkie and a diet coke so I will be nice! Trying hard to keep the grumpy to myself.

You may be having the melody in this weight loss choir but I'm right there singing harmony with my high alro-low soprano voice. I've told my son we are going to put out a vegetable garden,i was romping and stomping around the house in a crabby mood. He said "mom would this be a good time for me to go dig the garden?"
I just screamed "Whatever"
Our boys are going to need umpire padding before this comes to a conclusion👍🙈🙉🙊

I understand! I am on day 2 of my liquid diet and starting to get a little irritable. Primarily because I would love to eat the Unjury broth for 2 meals but it has too much sodium so I am stuck with the shakes! Plus the instructions say to have 5 shakes a day but each shake has 25g of Protein so if I have 5 I go over the 100 g limit for protein. The very low calorie intake is making me very tired. Wish I could just sleep. Hope to adjust to this soon! I have 12 days to go! :)

Good luck with your cutting back!

You too! I know we can do the temporary cut backs. I just might have to not see anyone there months or so! Still super excited and I know it will be worth it. Hope your 12 days go by fast for you!

My surgery is scheduled for May 8th. I switch back and forth between nervous and excited every 5 minutes. I started my pre-op today... I haven't really been hungry, but I'm bored of it already!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
