Well, it's actually the second worst part. LOL. The 2 week liquid Pre-Op Diet followed by the 2-3 week Liquid Post Op Diet is the worst part! bahahahahaaha!

@FluffyChix is right. For me the "fun" began on February 26th and probably won't end until March 26th at the earliest and that is IF I do not have any post-surgical complications. Surgery comes March 12th for me. Any person who thinks that surgery is the easy way out is just plain ignorant of the whole process. So yes, the waiting is the easiest part. Enjoy it.

I understand the torture of waiting. I waited 3 years before I could see a doctor and 2 years after to get surgery.

It was a relief to start the liquid diet even if mine was longer then the usual (4 weeks) and had an extra 5 week due to some problems they had on my first appointed day. those 9 weeks were long. ... 9 weeks of hell.

At least after surgery my surgeon make us only do 4 days of liquid, after it's mashed and pretty quickly semi-solid

It really feels like your life is on hold.

Good luck!

I used to dream of a national, plan for US, many good things about it, but it seems like the UK and Canada have to wait SO LONG for their surgeries. Odd isn't it that Australia also has a national health plan but they seem to move full speed ahead?

Well "free" health care comes with one major problem, the waiting time. My own surgeon does private and public surgeries so if I wanted to pay it would of been done in the first year. It's why many Canadian opt to go to Mexico too.

Personally I don't regret the waiting time but I regret that after I saw my surgeon he told me not to diet or anything so I didn't try to lose weight on my own during the first year and I went to calorie counting last year. I do think any weight you can lose pre-surgery is great :)

Yeah Keira Fae I agree. Where in the True North are you located? We seem to have a couple in B.C. , 2-3 in Alberta, some in Ontario but nobody from P.Q. or the Maritimes. And no Yukon, Northwest Territory et all. Do no First Nations people seek surgery? I'm in Ohio, was in BC for the Centennial of Confederation, otherwise I've been to Pelee Island, Point Pelee, Kingsvilee and Leamington Ontario. Have a peaceful smooth day.

I had my last appointment on 03/07 too. This sucks. I almost called the insurance company to see if my doctors faxed the documents today and it hasn’t been 24 hours. I’m all over the place

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
