Where are my 5ft tall peeps at?

Recommended Posts

I am 5ft tall - and like so many here it seems, a goal weight was never discussed with my Dr.

My own goal is 124lbs - if I manage to reach that, I'll re-evaluate from there. I remember being 19 and 119 lbs, and wanting to lose weight because I felt fat and wanted to be 112 *insert eye roll*.

I'm just over 3 months out, and the weight is coming off very slowly for me because of my hormonal issues (polycystic ovarian syndrome) - but I'm hoping to be halfway to goal in the next 2 weeks.

Hello! I have PCOS as well! How much have you lost since the surgery?

I was 187 on surgery day - I had been 192 and then lost a few lbs on the pre-op diet. I'm just about 162 now, so 25 lbs since surgery day. Nowhere near as much or as fast as a lot on here - but I have the PCOS, and my starting BMI was relatively low. I was wearing Size 16 and am now in 12s that are a bit loose - hope to be in Size 10 by the end of the month. (Bear in mind that US sizes are different and you have to add 4 to get the UK equivalent. I'm from the UK, so I'm fluent in both, LOL). At 158 lbs I'll be halfway to goal, and that is the milestone I'm working on right now.

How is it all going for you at about a month out??

I’m 5’3” and haven’t set a final goal yet. I weightlift, so that impacts my body comp. I really have no idea what size different weights will be. A size goal is an 8. But honestly? I’d be thrilled at a 10-12. So I’ll just work my plan and see how this goes.

I’m from the UK as well 😀

So you’re fitting in a US size 10? Is that UK size 14 then?

I haven’t had my surgery done yet, but it’s due in under 4 weeks now!! It’s really creeped up on me!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
