No To Low Cooking Ideas for Real Foods (Stage 4) Post Op

It occurs to me that not all of us are foodies, born with an innate desire to cook and try new recipes! Many of us got to the morbidly obese ball by eating fast food from drive thrus, or delivery meals. Still others shop in the frozen pre-made food isle and love Stouffer's Mac n cheese and Stouffer's Lasagna, and Banquet Fried chicken entrees! Many of us, have very limited ability (especially in the early days of weight loss) to stand up while preparing food. And, then too--many of us are on either fixed incomes or have very limited money for food--even though we might have been guilty pre-surgery of buying tons of craptastic food from the grocery store.

So shew! Long-winded! Let's use this thread to link to and discuss different options in our stores where we can get healthy pre-cooked meals or meals that are prepared and only need to go into the oven for 20 or so minutes! The cool thing about it is, even in the early days, many of us will get 2-3 servings from a single meal! So we will still be saving $$$$ over the drive through and copious volumes of quick fix crap food!

PLEASE for God's sake!!! Read the previous entries!! We don't want a billion posts about rotisserie chicken! One will suffice! Let's try NOT to duplicate! When possible, link to specific items from your favorite grocery, so people can see what it is your linking to!!!

I shop at HEB. We have GREAT prepared foods with either no to low cooking required! So many healthy options! One doesn't need to cook!!!

I'm going to start with the most obvious!

These represent a great bargain. Most of us will only have 1/4c or so of veggies in the early days and they must be well-cooked. HEB has a special this week for 2 for $3 on Green Giant Steamer Bag Veggies. Just nuke and eat! They have a big variety too!

TIP: Shop your weekly sales circular at your stores. They always have great specials on no to low cook Entrees and veggies each week!!

Real Simple HEB Meals: Pre-cooked, just heat and eat. Makes 2-3 servings (and you can eat only a bite of the carby sides). These are totaly do-able selections for dinner and when you figure that each one is AT LEAST 2 meals, but probably like 3-4 meals for the early days of weight loss post surgery life, it's a bargain!

I loves me some chicken pot pie!!! If you need something soft, the Atkins meals have a lot of options. And each one will make 2-3 servings! So they are so cheap! Each meal has about 22g Protein and less than 10g of carbs.

@jenn1 Those are all fantastic ideas and so delish looking!!! You got my heart thumping hard with all the seafood! I was like screaming: GIVE ME ALL THE SHRIMP AND SMOKED SALMON!!! :D The ceviche looks great! Have you tried it? Is it delish?

The winco ceviche is one of my favorites in the summer. Ohh sooo good

      Hey ya'll. SO. I got down to 199 for the weigh in but gained it all back right after. I have to do another month of weight management. They switched out the nutritionists at the last second and she said she doesn't pass anyone unless they have 5 veggies a week. I'm starting metformin and Farxiga today. Doc found a little bit of blood in my urine but wasn't too concerned. I'm trying not to freak myself out either. Depression is a little more intense than usual. I'm all over the damn place.

      3/19 - It wasn't a bad day I stayed up quite a bit much of the day. Have to focus on walking more before it gets too hot to walk outside at all.   Pain was less, but insomnia has kicked in the last two nights
