i have my appointment with the surgeon April 12, 2018. When do I start the liquid diet? I hear it’s 2 weeks, is it only boost shakes or can you have other things liquid as well?! I started this process September 8 2017. I had already completed the weight management class and cpap trying the year prior so I got a head start

Unless he's already made it clear that you will have to do a pre-op liquid diet, don't do or buy anything until you see the doctor. Not every doctor requires a liquid diet prior to surgery. Mine told me he doesn't require it and that I can eat normally up until the night before my surgery.

And yes, you can have many other liquids besides protein shakes, though it is important to get your proper amount of protein each day, so the shakes will be a staple. Chances are the doctor will have handouts for you with lists of what's acceptable and what's not for both pre-op and post-op.
