Hi, doing great! Congrats on reaching wonderland. My weight actually stalled since we last updated on this post but I have increased my calories to about 700 and I weighed myself yesterday and I'm down 2 lbs so hopefully it will continue.
Thanks for checking!!!

Great to hear all! I think I hit a stall or something—- or def possible that I’m overreacting :). I haven’t moved the scale since Friday. I started more exercise yesterday and upped the protein/ calories to 700 so hopefully that helps?? First stall for me.
@Lilly... not sure other than only eating Protein even though cleared for all foods. I heard advice to stay at this stage for as long as possible bc you can’t go back once you start with carbs and sugars etc?? Don’t know- making it up as I go along :). Haha

We seem to be on the same path calorie wise and adding those 100 extra calories did the trick for me, down yet another pound today! I do eat carbs daily but no sugar.

Wow, I'm eating more than everyone else (usually around 1000 calories) but I'm still losing 1-2 lbs a week, so I guess it's okay? Also, I don't feel like my hunger hormone entirely went away. Hunger feels DIFFERENT now, but I definitely know when my body needs food, and I never forget to eat. :-/

I posted this in the December Sleevers thread but I'll share it here, too. A typical day for me:

(I don't usually finish my whole turkey sandwich at lunch, but when I made just half a sandwich, it didn't feel like quite enough.)

I prefer to lose more than 1lb a week. My surgeon says things like sandwiches and tortilla chips are not a good idea. But it's your plan and if your happy continue.

How far out are you

Sorry just saw December so about two months out. Seems abit to soon to me for some of your food choices in terms of maximising your loss but I'm no expert. Whatever your surgeon says is ok. I'm 7 months post op and can't eat half a sandwich. Some people can. But make sure your eating slowely to allow your self to slowely recognise when you've had enough. Your Cal's seem good though higher than mine I've seen people on higher but also seen people on lower so whatever works

I'm almost 8 weeks out. Down 44 lbs, with another 30 to go. I do try to limit carbs but I also feel like I need to live my life and having a few tortilla chips with my 1/2 cup of turkey chili is okay. My parenting motto has always been that if you deny kids every indulgence out of hand (junk food, video games, etc), they'll just want it more, so I guess I'm taking the same approach to my post-op eating - I let myself have a few carbs/treats in moderation, so I don't lose my mind (or binge at some point). :)

I am about 7/8 weeks out and I am eating about 4 ounces per meal - within about 30 min
Total calories are around 500- 600 for the day
Does that sound about right? I want to maximize my weight loss during his time and I’ve not added anything other than Proteins yet

Does anyone remember how many calories you were taking in going into second week? I am at 300 to 400 is this to little or good.

I'm also at about 600 calories per day, and can't eat any more, but the problem is a huge lack of energy. Went to the gym for the first time (I'm day 21 today and was just approved for "light" gym work) and it was hard to do more than 25 min. But as far as food goes, I'm still following the purée stage rigorously because I'm worried about dumping.

My biggest craving-time is in the evening - 7-10 pm especially. But I've discovered that a poached egg with a piece of Melba toast works.

You're right about moderation - being 2 months out you should be able to introduce some of the carbs you crave, but pay attention to how it makes you feel.

I didn't track my calories at 2 weeks. Only watched my Protein and Fluid intake for the day.

I'm 7 weeks in, and I eat about 1000 calories a day, at 4 meals a day, maybe 5 depending on the day. I track my Protein, carbs, fat and calories. I measure everything and average about 1/2-1 cup of food per meal. I feel great!

Since week three after surgery, I've eaten 1000-1200 calories per day, including lots of carbs....per my doctor's orders.

Losing slow and steady, giving my skin a chance to recover (not expecting miracles, but a good fighting chance never hurts)

Loving my new Forever Diet:) Future looks extremely livable and enjoyable. Moderation is the key.

Someone else said....you can't kill the craving dragon, so you'd better learn to ride it. Feel like I'm doing that.

I do expect to hit my goal within a year, making great progress:)

Sure.

I lost 26 pounds during my 6 month presurg diet eating 16-1800 calories per day.

Day of surgery I was 234.

Today I am 204.

I've lost about 30 pounds in about 11 weeks since surgery. I'm really happy with this.

My group works with a research hospital and focuses on returning people to normal calorie intakes sooner...because this is correlated with better long term outcomes. We will lose as much weight as those on very restrictive calorie diets, but it takes us longer. At the end of 18 months our weight loss is virtually identical to theirs, statistically.

Now, here's the interesting part.... After five years, we have less regain than the restricted calorie group. The theory is that by resetting our metabolisms to deal with more realistic food intake sooner...we get some long term benefit from that.

More food now...less regain later. Win-win:) I also like my group's inclusion of lots of complex carbs, fruits and whole grains. I'm a Mediterranean diet fan...so this works well for me.

Happy to help. People get very fixed on the idea of rapid weight loss using very low calorie ketosis diet. And it's great for some folks...not knocking it. Just glad to let folks know there's another way...probably several other ways, really:) Lot of paths up the mountain!

However you're working your program, I wish you luck, good health, good energy, and lifelong results:)

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
