I actually prefer to walk places these days, rather than driving. Pick up my dry cleaning ... walk, get my hair done .... walk. I haven't talked myself into walking to grocery shop yet. I'll need to buy one of those little old lady push carts! 🤣

I've got this one too! The weather here in Arizona has been gorgeous lately, so I've been taking my bicycle and the kiddo trailer that attaches to it, and biking up to my daughter's elementary school to pick her up. She gets a kick out of getting to ride behind the bike to get home in the afternoons, and I get a great workout. I would never have considered it a year ago!

I miss AZ this time of year! I lived in Mesa/Tempe. I miss the hiking too now that I actually want to get out and exercise!

My towel wrapped all around me today after I took my shower

Yes ... I had "bath sheets" [a.k.a. giant towels] that at 400+ pounds would barely go around me. And now, 17.5 months post-VSG, I can wear a standard towel around me.

Nice feeling.

I haven't lost much yet - and was feeling a little discouraged, truth be told. But I had a couple of NSVs today that cheered me up.

First, I am very short (5ft) and have a top loading washing machine. I would have trouble reaching down to the bottom to empty it, and it would hurt my upper belly where the metal would be digging into me trying to reach down. Well today, I was not only able to reach the bottom, but could do it without impaling myself on the lip of the tub.

And I went to get my hair trimmed - first time since surgery. One of the places where I have noticeably lost weight is my face - I had no neck, just a massive wobbly double chin that looked like a goiter. Now it's disappearing. Before when I got my hair cut, I would be too embarrassed to look in the mirror - hating my fat, round face. Today I watched in the mirror and actually smiled at myself and didn't feel self-conscious or embarrassed.

Those are very, very good NSV Goldilocks. You got to count all those victories because they will mount up to a Big Grande one someday!

I zipped up a pair of (not wide-calf) boots yesterday! Even when I weighed 150 pounds before, I always needed wide-calf boots! This is a first in my adult life! Woo-hoo!

Also, I have a job interview on Tuesday. The last time I wore my suit (which I had just purchased) was late November. I had to have the pants taken in almost 2 inches! Yippee!

My most exciting in That Vein, Sutton in an Doctor Office chair with arms, not having it lift off the floor when I stand up, having to have my son pry me loose or that embarrasing Sucky noise the plastic ones, PCP has both kinds in his office, make as I used to pop free!

Sitting, don't know who Sutton is, maybe he's sending me a mental message?

I have three I can think of:

- this weekend I went swimming with my daughter and I used the ladder to get out of the pool instead of the gradual entry! I haven't been able to do that for years.

- I didn't wake up my daughter with my snoring at our hotel! A plus for both of us because she would end up waking me up to tell me I had woken her up.

- I have moved out of the morbidly obese range to just obese now haha

awww Thanks! Yes, I do feel proud inside. They are really big things for me that help me feel just a bit more like I'm living in the 'normal' world haha. Definitely looking forward to the next thing!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
