I had a cardiologist appt. yesterday. The nurse kept re-inflating the blood pressure cuff. The reading was so low she didn't trust herself! 95/65. Not back to my "normal" of old (80/50) but damn good! And I've still got around 40 lbs to lose. (They used to wonder how I could even walk around!)

I finally have one. Took the kiddos to Rye Playland this weekend. When I was a teenager, the first time I dealt with obesity, I couldn't fit on the Dragon Coaster and had to get off. It was crowded and I was humiliated. My daughter asked me to ride with her and I explained that this coaster was built in 1928 when people were a lot smaller and mom might not fit, so dad might have to step in. But surprise, surprise -- bar closed and an old demon was banished.

When I was a freshman in college this happened to me (in front of my only cousin on my Mom’s side who I’d met only once before plus other family and lots of strangers). I was turned away at the entry gate to the ride after not wanting to try fitting in the example seats they had up at the front. I was frustrated and embarrassed and have held the experience with me for over a decade. I used to love roller coasters and rides but have not been on a single ride since. I can’t wait until I’m small enough to feel okay going again!

Just passed the 1 month surgery mark. I travel a lot for business and I had an entire strategy about sitting at the back of the planes, trying to secretly put on the seat belt extender, super humiliated if someone sees me do it, and overall just felt really terrible even using one. Today I flew without one on 2 different airlines. No one except me knew why I was smiling so much upon take off. Bye Bye Seat Belt extender!

I can't wait to toss mine!!!

On vacation in Yellowstone, have had no knee pain hiking up and down and all around. And in the gift shop got a size L sweatshirt - bye bye, 2XL rack!

I did a 5K today (and set a personal record!), and initially requested an XL t-shirt, but exchanged it for an L because the XL looked way too big. Then I washed it and it shrank a lot. Then as I was putting it on, I was thinking the following: Oh, this will never fit-it totally fits.

Even at ~290 I was too big to ride most of the roller coasters at Great America two years ago. I’m hoping to give it another shot this summer, but we’ll see if I fit on any more! As technology progresses, so do safety systems, and there are some coasters that seem to only accommodate jockeys and ballerinas.

We’re going to a local carnival today and there’s one ride that I may ride just because it has one of those “may not accommodate larger riders” signs, not because I particularly want to, but because I can!

I've been out of town for three months, so for a lot of people in my town it looks like these changes have happened all at once. Two of the nail salon workers spent 5 minutes gossiping with each other about how my face had thinned out, how my cheekbones are more prominent, and how my butt and thighs are much smaller (though they thought I wasn't using enough sunblock because I've freckled this summer). They also decided that it wasn't plastic surgery and that I must be eating practically nothing. This all happened right in front of me while I'm getting a pedicure.

They have entirely forgotten that I understand Korean.

Thank you guys for the nice comments, much appreciated! The best advice i can give is definitely follow your eating plans and drink plenty of Water. I also stay away from sugar as much as possible, i might have a belvita Breakfast soft banana bread cookie for a snack once in a while or a package of fruit Snacks. But i keep in mind never to eat more then 15g in one day. Lots of Protein and vegetables to. If you like cauliflower and broccoli, i have found they are very filling.😀 Thank you all again, i have always gotten such wonderful support with bariatric pal!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
