Late December Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Anyone scheduled for sleeve in late Dec? Mine is on Dec 26, and I’d love to be in touch with others going through it with me.

Let’s do it. I’m 12/28. I’d be happy to stay in touch.

What’s your biggest fear? That the surgery won’t go as planned?

I’m just scared I won’t be able to keep anything down and will be nauseated all the time. And getting dehydrated scares me too. I have anxiety as it is so I worry anyway.

I’m worried about staying hydrated too but I’m channeling my fear into action by researching a plan, educating myself and asking for suggestions here and elsewhere. Do you have family to help keep an eye on you?

Will take a while to meet your liquid intake at beginning.. eventually you will be able to get your 48 oz of Water per day. Talk to your Dr if you can drink coconut water to keep you hydrated

Yes my mom thankfully. Plus she’s a nurse but she’s not too excited about the whole thing. Also worried about my medications I take and it will affect those. Dr said no but it still makes me nervous.

I’ve had anxiety and depression in the past but have been clear for about two years and I am worried about such a biological change triggering that to come back. Anyway, I know what anxiety feels like so I can understand how you feel. Relax. This seems like a great move and safe operation with a couple months of discomfort for a lifetime of skinny living. I’m excited. Are you too?

Great to have some buddies :) I’m scared as hell. Of what? I guess everything. I’m not so sick right now that a lifetime of vomiting will be worth it, so I’m taking a risk. I’m a mom to twin 3 year olds. I’m on the pre-op diet now and already my energy is too low to play with them. I’m really scared I’ll be drained of energy for months, maybe years. But I’m devoted and doing well on the diet. I want this. I need this for my health. It’s ok to be scared AND excited!

Just wanted to say good luck to all of you. I'm a late December sleever and coming up on my 1 year anniversary of my sleeve (12/30) so I was experiencing all you are now, last year. You will do great and it's completely worth it. Just listen to your body, sip sip sip and follow your surgeons plan to a T.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
