I've Fallen Off!!!

Recommended Posts

I had the gastric sleeve surgery on March 21, 2016. Almost 2 years ago. I started out at 320. Im currently down to 215. I've been 215 since September 2016. I don't believe that I've stretched my stomach. I've just been eating really wrong. I want to begin losing again. Can any offer some suggestions as to getting back losing again? After the death of my sister in September of 2016, I haven't been able to focus. Please help!!!???

Im so so sorry for your loss. It's understandable but you needed something familier to comfort you and that was food. Nothing will ever bring your sister back. But focusing on getting your self healthier will surely help you emotionally. You have lost alot of weight so far so you can do it.

Pure Protein ..
Fish . Steak. Whatever

With a side of veg or salad.< br>
Maybe string cheese and the like for a snack..

This keeps me on track and I have a reduced appetite.

If tracking seems over whelming at first. If your sticking to dense protein first. And a few bites if veggies you should feel the restriction to stop.

Here if you need anything . I'm only 4 months out so not experienced.

I lost my brother a long time ago. And I know the pain. It's no help now but I feel it has gotten easier

Thank you. Im going to start, like you said, with more dense Protein. Im not real big on meat. Its never been a favorite of mine so that's a struggle. I will try the eggs though. I drink premiere Protein Drinks sometimes. Congratulations on your new beginning as well. Its exciting to see those pounds drop. I know my scale was tired of me. I weigh myself weekly now. I used to do it daily. Thank you for your condolences. My sister was my best friend. She was 46. She struggled all of her life being over weight. She had the gastric sleeve surgery and 3 weeks later, she passed away. Its horrible. Just when she was doing something to improve her quality of life. It really hurts. We always did things together. Just like the surgery.

I'm so very sorry you lost your sister and your best friend. How tragic. I can't imagine how terrible that would be. I hope that you are better able every day to take good care of yourself and treat yourself well as you work through her death and all of the challenges of the surgery/weight.

I am having a good experience now with mindful eating, focusing on hunger and satiety, enjoying my food, and giving myself nourishing food (proteins, fruits, and a small amount of whole grains and foods like dark chocolate--I hate vegetables, unfortunately), and this has really helped me not to eat for non-hunger reasons. I don't know if that is a challenge for you, but if it is, focusing on mindfulness could help.

So sorry for the loss of your sister. I talked about emotional triggers in one of my videos and how real it is for us, similar to an addict falling back after an emotional set back.

Without much information on your daily diet, the types and amounts of foods you're eating and the amount or types of exercise you're doing or not doing, there is very little advice anyone of us could give...

Besides the basics, dense Proteins and veggies...I'm not a fan of giving overweight people cheese products at all, especially mozzarella cheese, the calories aren't worth it and they just aren't nutritionally dense.

Please provide us with an honest rundown of the foods you're eating and the exercise you're doing and we could give some advice from there.

Was the cheese comment in response to my post lol ? Many people eat cheese and manage just fine. I've lost 60lbs in 4 months including cheese on my diet. It's in my plan and many others. If cheese causes a stall. Drop it. If it doesn't I don't see the issue. I eat no junk. Just meat veg and cheese . I don't drink milk so some dairy doesn't hurt anyone.

Yes and no. I believe that she had a blood clot. It really hurts me that she's gone. She struggled her whole life being unhappy because of her weight. She then found something that could help her achieve happiness and she dies. It hurts really bad. Sorry about the sad story. I just wanted to share.

Don't ever be sorry. It is better to talk than hold the sadness in.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. That's heart breaking. :( I am not too far out, but the first step I think you should take is to call your surgeon/NUT and get them involved in your plans. I know some people swear by doing a pouch reset, but I think a good first step would be to start tracking your food and reviewing your macros to make sure you are prioritizing Protein. Cut out all the caloric drinks and make sure 95% of what you are eating has nutritional value. You can definitely get back on track - even if you have stretched your sleeve some, the stomach will adapt to smaller meals by contracting. You can do this!! Good luck!

I too am so sorry about your sister. It breaks my heart.

the friends here who are advising to only focus on Protein are right. I’m not an expert. But I’m doing well, almost 5 months in. Main thing to think about besides protein is STOP ALL SUGAR, sweet drinks, bread, Desserts, fake sugars.

ive found that fat alone doesn’t stop my loss of fat ever. Full fat diary and meat don’t hurt me and taste fantastic. Healthy fats have a place with your protein. Don’t eat low fat anything. Eating a piece of juicy hamburger or a full fat unsweetened greek yogurt will keep you losing weight AND help you feel full and satisfied.

All sweet carbs make you crave sugar and that’s is what you do not want. A week or two without sugar and you will lose the desire for it. No bread, no fruit, no sweets. 85% chocolate is ok. Potatoes and sweet potatoes even with butter are fine. I promise you, giving up all sweetness really works and after you kick the habit, it’s painless.

good luck sweetie, you will lose the rest of your weight. And your sister will be proud.

We have a sleeve not a pouch. So we don't have a pouch to reset.[emoji23]

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
