Good Luck! Don't for get to take a pillow with you for the ride home! It really does help holding in on the belly for bumps!

Don't forget to post when you can and let us know you are in bandland!

Good luck - after the op, when you are up to it, try and keep walking it really helps with the gas. Also just follow the surgeon's instructions (s)he knows best.

Try not to worry (although I know that's hard) and remember why your doing it. I'm day 13 post op and I'm feeling absolutely great!

<p>Coo, good luck and you'll find it's over so fast. The recovery period is a bit hard, but the hard part only seems to last from around 3-5 days. Totally tolerable! And so worth it! Actually I was like you, really prepared and even more prepared than I needed to be. I was able to do a lot more after surgery than I expected to! I didn't need some of the supplies and meds I'd bought, I purchased WAY to much Soups and stuff for the mushy stage --- the whole journey is easier than you fear. I'm so excited for you!

I am so excited for you! I would recommend that you try to get as hydrated as you can today. I was dehydrated going in. And then for a few days after I was unable to drink much due to sick and swelling. So I got even more dehyrated which only increased the nausea. So drink drink drink a lot today. It will make you feel better in the days after. Let us know how it all goes. Sending good thoughts your way!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I was banded on a Monday too, my only regret was I didn't eat that cheeseburger, ;) on Saturday.

Congrats to you! This is the beginning of a whole new life. The pillow idea is the best, I did that, and it helps a lot. Hope you don't have to travel too far for surgery. Just relax, get a good night's rest and I will say a prayer for you tonight.

I was banded 11 days ago... I got 4 hours sleep (had to be in at 5:30 am for prep). So, I truly recommend sleep to save off some of the nervousness.

For me, it's totally surreal. Although I remember the day, but it's like a distant memory. The people were great, there as no trauma, just in, op and then out the next day and home to recover and begin life again.

A big congrats! to you! sleep and be well!

Good Luck,

I'm right behind you, getting banded Thursday 10/25.

It has been a long journey but we are at the crossroads, we can get through this.

Thanks for all your good vibes and well wishes :(

sleep? well, my first GOOD sleep was today, which is day four - in my own bed with my little red kitty. She's still snuggled up now - I get up and move around, and she just waits for me to snuggle back!

Firstly, I hope you did great Fred?

Does everyone else feel ummm weird?? I feel a quite ooozy if I walk around too much, and I've stack of meds to take for nausea, pain etc. - just in case apparently. I had my staples out this morning, which is why I stayed in hospital an extra day. It was only a 25 minute drive home, but it was long enough.

I'm on mushies, I had really had the clear veggie broth after the end of day two, so I asked my surgeon for some porridge or slightly thicker Soup, which is what I had, and some low cal icecream. That helped. But it does feel distinctly strange after eating!

Very supportive husband and furry people here, so that's all good :(

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
