I'm getting concerned, my surgery was a little over 2 weeks ago and I'm just starting stage 2. honestly before the surgery everyone was telling me how afterwards I wouldn't be hungry and I would only be able to take in about the amount of 3 shot glasses. I haven't noticed that at all.. I'm still always hungry and I can take in as much liquid as I want. It doesn't seem like my stomach is smaller.. Lol has anyone else that is farther along in this journey had that experience? Please someone give me some good news

liquids aren't going to let you feel restriction at all. Describe your hunger - it could be acid reflux - are you on a PPI?

Honestly it just feels like hunger pains. I've had acid reflux before and this feels diff. I can even hear my stomach growling especially if my wife is cooking something for the rest of the family. I can't ask them to stop eating just because I can't lol. So you think it will be diff when I actually get to the stage where I can eat something more solid??

To be honest, I'm having the same issue. The ONLY thing that makes me remotely "full" or not hungry is sugar-free pudding, or anything with a pudding-like consistency. It's weird to me, but I just stick with the small portions b/c I know that's what I'm supposed to do. I swear, it feels like a tapeworm is inside of me.

Part of me thinks it has something to do with the boredom hunger, since I'm off work for another week. When I was going through my pre-op liquid diet, I was working so much to where I didn't care about eating or feeling hungry all of the time, so shockingly enough, I'm excited to get back to work lol.

When I️ was starving in the early stages I️ would eat a large spoonful of smooth Peanut Butter. If you are allowed that - it really hit the spot. I️ ate it almost every day. Now that I’m eating all foods I’m still hungry but get full quickly.

You can't have sugar free pudding on stage 2?

No I wish I could but according to my Dr I can't have pudding. It seems like everyone else's dr is letting them eat all sorts of things on stage two. My list only includes Protein Shakes and broth

No, listen those intestinal noises are gas and air. You could hear mine across the room. And you will not feel restriction until you get to real food, more dense food. Trust me it will happen. And Protein Shakes for me were terribly constipating, keep that in mind. Drink as much water/tea as possible at this stage, thick shakes do not count for Fluid, you still need fluid because your stomach and intestines will draw Water digesting the Protein in the shakes.

Acid reflux feels a little different now, ask your doc what to try for acid reflux and see if it makes a difference.

Uhhhh, getting cut open only to have part of a major organ removed and sewed/stapled up IS harder than any dang diet. But, whatever floats your boat. This dude's got it in the bag, he'll be fine.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
