Hi

I’m still on the liquid stage, sooooo tired of Soups so I ordered a Pt.of egg drop Soup. I drank the whole thing in about 20 minuets

One of my coworkers had the VSG in September he said I could stretch my stomach?????

How much should of I eaten ????

That is incorrect. liquids do not challenge the sleeve. If you ate vs drank that much you would feel much differently . Likely would be going to the ER. Congrats on your sleeve! I had mine done 10/28/17 and Im down 22lbs. so far.

Liquid has volume and weight and can expand the stomach. The thicker the liquid the longer it will take to sieve through a swollen, newly stapled stomach. Put a small hole in a balloon and fill it with water-it will expand if the filled to quickly. True, liquid moves through the system faster than food, it is not true that if a liquid is consumed too fast that it does not effect the pouch. We can’t escape physics.

I beg to differ, because it is very important that the answers are correct. Digestion and physics are nor related in this sense. I called my surgeon to ask that same exact question. I asked for to the same reason.... I was drinking a LOT of Water at once. Before getting my MBA I was a hospital corpsman in the US Navy for 8 years. I know A & P but I don't know zilch about bariatrics. I reached out to my surgeon. He stated " liquids alone will not challenge the sleeve". He added that as long as they are not carbonated or that your stomach doesn't have food in it already. He told me not to worry about it. Sooooo, no need to worry, same thing happened to me. Its gets better when you can have real foods.

I agree correct answers are important. That’s why she should ask her surgeon. And, various surgeons may have various answers. My surgeon told me the information so I shared it.

And yes WATER is absorbed quickly and water not absorbed moves through the digestive track. Too much water may cause toxification-rare but possible.

But we are not talking about pure water in the question. Egg drop Soup has solid food particles and the “soup” is the liquid membrane of an egg.

But I have no desire to mince words about it or compare your MBA to my PhD or elaborate on my 10 years of Air Force service. Not sure why you felt that necessary. I will follow my doctor’s instructions, you follow yours. I’m done here.

I brought it up because most on here know Im not in the medical field any longer, Im in business. I realize you have only been on here 2 days but this is a support group. We support each other and act like adults. Snarky is not part of the equation. We all answer what we can and relay the knowledge we have from our experiences. We do not squabble and attempt to cut each other down. I will politely ask you to be kind, considerate and compassionate to all on here. That is the reason we joined. Have a nice evening.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
