I just went through this with Aetna. My peer to peer was denied. Eventually, I received approval. You can do your own appeal with Aetna simultaneously with the doctor.

@balancingbilly,,,,Thanks.....how long did the process take?.....I’m hoping not to do a appeal cause I really don’t know how to do one...I’m still waiting for the doctor peer to peer outcome and hope to be approved.

The peer to peer took a week. My doctor wasn’t very good about keeping me updated. I called Aetna and they updated me. At a month, I filed my own appeal. My doctor hadn’t even started the appeal after the peer to peer. My doctor said the Aetna rules were unique and took research to appeal.

I’m so happy you won your appeal...how long did take for your own appeal to get approved??? I wish all the best. Please forgive me if you get this message more than one... I’m new at this and my phone is acting up.
