I'm jealous! I have to do 14 days clear liquids! Only thing getting me through is the hard boiled egg whites I'm allowed. Tomorrow is the halfway point though.

Wow good for you!!!! Just think of it this way... you've got a jump on me with the weight loss!!!

Keep strong! [emoji1320]

Thanks @LylaLovesCoffee how is your pre-op diet going after a week now? How was giving up coffee for you? I was a huge LOVER of coffee which I didn't even enjoy until about 28 then I became addicted thank God i'm over it and if I choose to add it later on it's allowed after 8 weeks I think need to re-read my nutrition notes but not sure I even want it. Maybe a single cup with splenda and Protein Powder?

When I went to my pre op class I asked about the coffee. They said I had to give up the Creamer. So I put my Protein Drink in it instead. They told me that was fine. After surgery though I'm only allowed 12 oz of coffee, which to my calculations comes up to 2 cups a day with my new tool, as long as I continue to put the Protein drink in it until I have to ween off of it. After that I'll figure out what I need to do next.

As for the pre op diet, they have me on a weight loss diet of a protein drink in the morning 4 to 6 oz of lean meat with non starchy vegetables for lunch and dinner with a snack in between meals of either cottage cheese, yogurt, protein drink, cheese sticks, or a Protein Bar. I don't start full liquids until Sunday. I've doing well with the first part so far, Next week should be the real test.

How is it going for you @confusedturtle3?

It's really interesting how much the pre op diet varies from surgeon to surgeon. I'm only required to do no carbs for the first 4 days and then liquids for 3 days prior to surgery.

I'll count myself lucky to only have to do 3 days of liquid

I had no requirement at all for a pre-op diet but I did a self imposed liquid diet for 3 days and lost 7 pounds in that time.

I've just barely woke up after 12 hours of sleeping post-op. Walked some laps around the ward. Now having some broth and Water.

How's your pain level? I think the first night is what I'm most worried about!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
