RNY November 2017

Recommended Posts

Nov 1! Wow! So close, makes this real, doesn't it? How are you doing? I imagine I will be an emotional basket case when I am that close!!

I am really shaking today, my nerves. I know this is the right decision. Just scared of the pain afterwards. I hope it's controlled.

@sunshinetinks((hugs)) It's only natural hon!! You're gonna be a rock star! Just ask for plenty of pain meds. They won't send you home without that being controlled. I'm so excited for you!!! Keep your mind and hands busy today!!!

@TheNewMrsR Good luck tomorrow! You and Tinks are surgery twins!!! Can't wait to hear back from each of you. Way to kick off November! All Saints Day. It's when I had my double mast. It's a good day for surgery. :)

ROFLMAO about the train, the shoes, or being nekkidy! LOL!
So, don't spaz over the psych eval. It was sooooo easy peasy...mainly just a test with 400 questions. Then you sit and chat for about 30-45 minutes. He'll talk about why you want the surgery, how you think it will help. He's trying to see if you're a psychopath, have hidden personality disorders, if you are withit and right with the world...lol. If you have depression, eating disorders, alcohol or drug probs, that sort of thing, I think it would be trickier and worth a little anxiety. But otherwise, you'll do great! ((hugs)) and so excited for you!

Sorry [emoji20] I saw this maaaaa late. But I didn’t get it like you ... all I had was the chat and that’s it. [emoji848] better that way I guess, just now my new headache is .. when to call the insurance to see if it was submitted and not sound so desperate. Lol

Congrats to those having surgery tomorrow. Praying for you all. I'm one week away and my nerves are already stretched thin. But I know this is the path I need to follow. And hey, I've lost 8 1/2 lbs already on my liver shrink diet. Mine isn't all liquids. But still rough! lol@FluffyChix Happy Halloween!

OMG! This was me yesterday. I "think" they submitted some time around the 24th, and so I was searching the boards and Google to see what the usual turn around time would be--I don't want to call and red-flag me at the insurance! Knuckle biter for sure!

Totally in the same boat. Mine was supposed to be submitted last week. My office said to lay off and not follow-up with insurance and that they typically hear back within two weeks. I’m struggling not to call though and to make sure everything was received.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
