Got my date

Recommended Posts

Hi Danna,

Just thought I would add my best wishes for tomorrow. I envy you and at this stage can only dream when my day will come. You will be fine. Good luck and tell us all about it when you get home.

Deb

thanks Deb and Sades,

It's strange thinking in hours instead of days, when I got a date it seemed so far away and now there is only one more sleep.

talk to you again when I get to the other side.

Thanks for all your thoughts - I am now on the other side (so to speak). Had my surgery late yesterday afternoon and spent an uncomfortable night in ICU and have now been relocated to a ward where I will spend tonight and hopefully get some sleep.

Will write more latter - getting a bit tired now.

:whoo::whoo:Glad to hear that you have come out of it okay. I hated the hospital... you'll feel much better when you are back in your own bed. Look forward to chatting about your experience. :whoo::whoo:

Danna, Great to see you are now banded after what must have seemed like for ever counting down. Rest up and take things easy. Looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Hi Danna,

Hows it all going now you are banded? Really anxious to hear how everything went and how it feels now.

Hi Debz,

I'm doing great -haven't had a fill yet but go back to see about that on 9/1. Was lucky to be back on normal foods for Chrissie, though ate more than I should. The good thing though, was that I didn't eat anywhere near what i would have done last year. So while I haven't lost anything over Christmas I haven't gained anything either, so for this time of year that has to be a plus.

Anyway, back onto the proper eating plan now and I hope to have lost more weight by my appointment date.

How's everything going for you?

Danna

Hi Danna,

Great to hear you are doing so well. For me it is still a waiting game. I have my first appointment with the surgeon on the 15th of April and hope to have a date the minute my insurance kicks in in June. I just can't wait, it seems like forever away.

Debz,

Waiting is the pitts!!! At least when you see the Dr in April you will be able to book your op so that you can be banded as soon as the insurance kicks in.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
