I am currently on Day 2 of my pre-op liquid diet. It has been a struggle to get through the past couple of days. Any of you all have any tips on how to stay motivated and does it get any easier as the days go by? Any suggestions or words of motivation would be so highly appreciated!

All about the end result!! It is tough but is necessary for the surgeon to perform the surgery without complications. 6 months from now you will be wearing smaller clothes and feel great about yourself!!

The first three or four days suck. You just have to power through those first few days then it gets so much easier. You've got this. Keep your eyes on the prize.

Thanks so much for all the words of encouragement. Today is Day 3 and it's getting somewhat easier because my mind isn't always telling me I'm hungry. I know how important This is and I want to be successful :)

Drink lots of Water. Like way too much. Keep your stomach full. sleep if you can to pass time.

I "cheated" on my 10 day pre-op with a can of green Beans just so I could have a "chewing" sensation by day 8... My doctor didn't worry too much about it. The end goal will justify it all. Before you know it the 10 days will be done.

My gastric sleeve surgery is scheduled for this coming Thursday. I have been panicking, and as a result, I have been eating one big meal per day since my two week liquid pre-op diet started! I have been doing liquids for the majority of the day, but end up caving by the time evening comes. Yesterday was a good day because I stuck to the liquids. However, I'm petrified now because it's so close to my surgery, and this evening was not a good one. Any words of encouragement or advice on what to do? Is there any way that i will still be ok by Thursday?

Did you have your surgery? How did everything go?

Powerade Zero (variety of flavors), Swanson chicken, Beef, and Vegetable Broths, Bai 5 calorie drinks, Goya Bouillon packets, sugar free popsicles, and of course good old plain Water.

With the broth, I like to put a little garlic powder or other seasonings for taste. Nothing like pepper because that my irritate your stomach. Also, for me, I found that the colder or the hotter the liquid, the easier it went down. For example, the Popsicles and the broth went down quite easily for me.

I had my surgery last Thursday, and I have decided to document my journey, including what I have been drinking during the process. Feel free to like, subscribe, and comment on my YouTube channel. Here's the link, and best of luck on your journey!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
