My plastic surgery was today!

I had it done by Dr. Kara in Scarborough, Ontario. He did a lower body lift with fleur de lis Tummy Tuck, muscle repair and lipo!! He is absolutely wonderful. So caring and was literally excited to transform me!!

Surgery lasted 7 hours and he removed 10lbs of skin and fat!!!

I'm doing well, haven't moved yet, so we'll see how that goes in an hour or two. Otherwise pain is good. I actually feel better then after my RNY!

Anxious to get to see something, but certainly not in a rush.

Very sleepy, I'll update more later :)

I'm so glad you're doing well! Are they keeping you overnight? I'm considering a 360 body lift and thigh lift and they are saying it's done outpatient...

no!! I did all the research. Ohip will only cover a panniculectomy! Which is the removal of skin below belly bottom. In which you need a GP referral to a surgeon willing to work with Ohio. Most won't. Then that surgeon makes a claim to Ohip and that surgeon tells you how the billing to help you out. The one I went through was willing to pass me on a $400 payment by Ohip. And there was no way I was going to recover through all of this and not be happy. I know I needed more than a panniculectomy. Good luck to you!

Just thought I'd make an update. It's about 2.5 days since my lower body lift. Just got up after a good chunk of sleep and feeling itchy!! All over itchy!! As it's still night I took another Percocet, but feeling like I'll only need those now when sleeping and probably just 1 instead of the 2 I was taking. I took the clinic recommendations to take your pain meds as directed every 4 hours for the first couple days to stay in front of the pain. That I think has definitely helped although I'm kinda done with being in the groggy state of mind.
I've had two poops (tmi I know but very important) and didn't need anything to get things going. Ive been feeling like a need to couch, but it hurt to much to try. Just slowly was able to couch up two chucks of yellow crap from my lungs, not sure whats that all about.
I think I've transitioned from lazy boy to couch with masses of pillows for support. I was able to get up and down just now pretty comfortably.
So far no issues. I do have staples and will likely have those out Monday.
That's all I can think of for now. Oh I did weigh myself, out of curiosity and was expecting to be up, even though they took 15lbs. I went into surgery at 197 and yesterday I was 195. Thought that was pretty good. Night night for now.

OK, so another update. My 2.5-year-old child was up at 5:45 this morning [emoji30][emoji35]. After dealing with him for an hour the pain instantly came back....one Percocet was not enough! Finally laid down at 7 AM took my two Percocets, 1 antibiotic, and one anti-inflammatory with a Protein Shake, had a little cry. sleep time!

Thank you. There are still ups and downs. But it is going good. I just wish this one spot would stop hurting so much. It must be an internal stitch or something, but oh my goodness it's killing me!
Anyway here's another pic from today with comparison to Tuesday. I never took naked pics when I was 292. Tuesday is was 197 and today 193.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
