Spring/Woodlands Area?

Recommended Posts

Hi there...Is anyone near Spring/Woodlands? I'm off Cypresswood in Spring, and am looking for local banders. Let me know if you're out there.

Hi ya. I was banded a few days before you by Richard Wilkenfeld in his Conroe office. I'd LOVE to find some local folks to chat with! I live in Dobbin, but my office is in Conroe. You?

I thought I'd posted to this...but I guess it got lost. Sorry if you receive this twice.

I was banded by Dr. Jason Balette, from the Surgical Group of the Woodlands. He's great! I really do love him and his office staff. Good people! :)

I live in Spring, near 45 and 1960 and I work in the Jersey Village area (near 8 and 290).

How are you doing since surgery? Have you been filled yet? I had my first on Friday, and boy! I feel it! :)

Where is Dobbin? I moved from VA in June 2006, and am still unfamiliar with the areas around Houston.

I got my second fill yesterday. The clear liquid diet I'm supposed to be on today was horrible. My stomach GROWLED all day. I just ate about 8 Doritos and feel ridiculous. I know this will work, but I feel like I'm not doing my part. God knows that if my willpower were intact I wouldn't be here...I've got a 4 cc band with 1.8 cc in it at this point. I'm sure I'll be going back in a couple weeks for another fill. I need some RESTRICTION!

Dobbin is a tiny, little town west of Montgomery, west of Lake Conroe. I work in Conroe, though. And that's no where from where you live. We should meet for supper one night. That is, if I ever learn how to eat with this contraption (I'm just being fussy. I'm still so happy to have my band).

That would be great. Also, instant support during the day would be wonderful. Do you use Yahoo Messenger? We could IM.

I go to Houston once or twice a month. Actually, I've got an appointment in The Woodlands 2:00 on Saturday. You won't be anywhere in the area, will you?

Blessings, Fellow Traveler!

What a beautiful morning it is! Of course, I nearly slept it away...I just got up. Spring, huh? I have a friend that keeps an office in Old Town Spring and I come up there fairly often. I'd love to meet you (and you, too, Rhonda). We should set up a play date to meet at Old Town Spring.

I love Old Town Spring. I've only been there once, though, almost a year ago.

Name the time and place, and I'll be there if my daughter's soccer game allows.

I live down the road from Old Town Spring! Just over on the other side of 45. I love when Old Town Spring starts getting ready for Christmas. It's my favorite time of the year! Anytime is good for me too. I don't have kids so ya'll squeeze me into your schedule...

Hi, Haydee and Marie -

I would love to schedule a day/time. I'm booked on Saturdays for a while. I could do a Friday night or Sunday afternoon (not Nov 4th - we're going to RenFest).

I'm not all that familiar with Old Town, but I can find it if you want to pick the place.

I would absolutely LOVE to meet you ladies. Unfortunately, we are going into the busiest time of year around here. Also unfortunate is the fact that we REALLY need each other around the holidays. Maybe if we sort of keep our options open, we can coordinate something in spite of our schedules? I will be out and about running errands this next weekend for sure. I'm having a huge gathering at my home on Nov. 10th and am no where near prepared. But after that, I plan to slow up a bit. Even if the holidays are bearing down on us!

I'm going in tomorrow afternoon for the 2nd fill. Lord, I hope this one gives me a little restriction. I've been eating everything that didn't get up and run from me.

I do feel a little isolated. No one but us knows what the heck is going on with this thing...

Blessings, sisters!

Where did you move from VA? I moved from Fairfax County. Banded in May, down 54lbs live in Sterling Ridge of the Woodlands. I too would love a more casual, local group to get with. I just posted the note about the "North Houston Bandsters" group. Never been to a meeting yet (the coordinator has been busy) so perhaps we can meet at this one. -Rachel

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
