Choosing not to fill band post-surgery?

I have my first 'fill' appointment this coming Monday, just over 6 weeks from my surgery date of 1st June 2017.

My starting weight was 149kg (328lbs). I lost 12kg (26.5lbs) during the 2 weeks pre surgery liquid diet, and in the 6 weeks since surgery I have lost 11kg (24lbs).

I have lost the weight through eating 1500 calories per day (tracked on myfitnesspal), and walking for 1 hour, 6 days per week. My diet is completely on point, hitting my carb, fat and protein macros each day.

So I have decided I'm going to go to the appointment, but I'm not going to get the band tightened...yet. I feel completely satisfied with the amount I'm eating, no hunger at all, and I haven't had anything get stuck yet so I feel I'm in a good place. Tonight for dinner was chicken breast, sweet potato and broccoli.

Of course if I fall off the wagon, the option to get it tightened is there.

Has anyone else decided not to get the band tightened initially?

Hi. Sounds like a great decision. The band is one of many tools available to help you manage your weight. If you are comfortable and satisfied, then there's no need to adjust at this time. If you feel your appetite increasing, are less satisfied between meals, and your weight loss slows down, you can reconsider a fill at any time. Wishing you all the best.
