Does anyone who has Cigna PPO ever had to dish out money pre surgery anything out of pocket or did you get a bill after surgery? If you dished anything out at all.

I have Cigna and I had to pay co insurance of $750 but that was it. That was when I had the endoscopy. They told me I would have nothing further out of pocket. Also, after my 3 months of doctor visits and nutritionist visits, plus all of the other appointments and clearances, I was approved in a few days. My surgery is on July 14th.

Wow just a few days??? That is great!!! I go to the heart doctor next week and that's it then it's just got to be sent to insurance for approval. I had the endoscopy I didn't pay anything hopefully it remains that way. Good luck to you!!!!!

Hello my gastric sleeve surgery is scheduled for August 1st and I have Cigna as well. Last Thursday I received an email from the finance department of the hospital saying that I need to pay for all of the outpatient appointments costs out-of-pocket, and the insurance funding will only be used toward the actual surgery. Sooooo, I will have to pay the total cost of $955 prior my your appointments for EKG, endoscopy, chest X-ray and primary care consult. I don't know if I will have to pay after that.
I wish you success on your upcoming surgery!
Best Regards!

I have a Cigna HSA and have had to meet my deductible and then 10% coinsurance for each service. I've been billed for everything (EKG, Upper GI and labs) except my surgeon visits, nutritionist visits and psychiatrist visits where I've had to pay at time of service each time. I haven't been scheduled for my surgery yet so waiting to find out what I'll be charged by the hospital. The recommended psychiatrist isn't in network and charged $1k (that I got down to $600) for three visits. A consult, testing and then the evaluation. Others I've asked said they had one visit. Advice: Find an in network psychiatrist!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
