Hi All,

I'm attending a seminar on the 21st on the sleeve. Is anyone at this point? I'm scared because it's a huge life change. Also, silly things run through my head like... how will I know if I'm eating slow enough? I'm so afraid of getting sick. Also, I always pictured my wedding with champagne. I'm reading up and I know that's a big no no! I don't want to be in pain! Can anyone help with these questions? Thanks!!!

Hi Dawn!

The seminar my husband and I attended was very helpful, informative, and enjoyable. All of our initial questions were answered and even ones we hadn't thought about were discussed as well.

I hope your experience is as positive!

My husband was sleeved two months ago and says learning to pay attention to his body's cues has been a major factor in his loss of 50+ pounds.

I am excited to get sleeved by Christmas and look forward to all the help and support on this site.

Wishing you all the best and look forward to sharing in this journey. ☺

I was so nervous when I was attending my seminar. I was acting like I was about go to surgery that day! Lol it was very informative and felt comfortable to commit to getting it done. Now I'm almost done with my requirements for my insurance. So it may be August or September when I have the surgery. Now the nerves
are back! Lol

Wish you the best of luck!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
