Tips for Surviving Pre-Op Diet

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I'm brand new here, but I can think of no better crowd to ask: Do you have any tips or tricks that got you through the pre-op diet? It's only been three days, but I am so hungry and my energy levels are in the basement. I can barely focus at work and I know that my normal activities, like playing tennis, are going to be severely hindered in the run-up to the surgery. Any advice that anyone has to keep this under control is appreciated.

Keep yourself busy! I scrubbed my house from top to bottom which had the added benefit of being one less thing to worry about after I got home from surgery but also kept me distracted during the pre-op diet.

The good news is that you're right on the cusp of the initial carb withdrawal symptoms easing up. Keep pushing - you've got this!! [emoji1303]

Thanks! I've been keeping myself busy like you said. You were also right about the withdrawal. It's much more manageable now, but my energy level is still really low. I ended up skipping tennis practice yesterday because I still felt pretty weak. Maybe I will be in better shape for my Saturday class.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
