Hi Sybaritic01:

I was banded on 7/26. Doing well. Down 35 since banding, but 71 overall since I started dieting three months before banding. I still miss overeating, but that's in my head, not in my body. I'm exercising alot - 4.5 to 5.5 miles per day walking. Some good things are happening....closet with three sizes in it, down to lowest size, need to buy new clothes soon. Silly things, like I don't have to sit down to put on socks and underwear. Can almost touch toes without bouncing, but not quite. Going for second fill on Friday. Hope to be filled anyway, because I'm hungry.

Keep up the good work.

I was banded July 31 and so far have only managed to regain the weight I lost during the pre-op period. I'm going for my second fill next week so hopefully I'll finally get some sort of restriction. Right now I feel like I don't even have a band - it's somewhat discouraging.

Aza......all I can say is try to stay focused and take extra care of yourself (get a pedicure this week!).....you'll get restricted enough soon.....and the weight will start to come off......you go girl!

AZA - I know exactly how you feel - I was banded the 23 of July and I have not been loosing for about 2 months :) I know some of it is my fault as I have not been doing the best - I have been gone a lot and eating out 3 times a day is not the best and then of course there is those glasses of wine!!!

I have only had 1 fill and that was only 1 cc in a 10 cc band :)

I read where some Dr.'s are very good about giving more in the first or 2nd fill. I go back the 29th and hoping for at least a little restriction! I want to get this weight off - - - can anyone motivate me. I have been taking my neighbor for radiation and other cancer treatment and it has been tough. But I have to do this for her and can't worry about myself at this time but my time will come!

Well I finally felt restriction! And I vomitted! :) Seriously, while the whole episode was painful, I was happy to finally feel like I'm actually banded. And no more McDonalds french fries for me LOL!

I got a 2cc fill this week - I'm up to 6cc in my 10cc band. I definitely feel like I have to eat slower and chew my food more. I'm finally hopeful that I'll start losing!

SD Chick, 1cc in a 10cc band is not a lot! Have you read the tread about how many cc's it takes to finally reach restriction? For most people it doesn't start until 6cc. I would question your doctor on why he's not being more aggressive with fills.

Hello all,

I was banded on July 10th and have lost 68 to date. I had my first fill on 10/11 and feel like I could probably use another one.

I have 158 lbs total (90 lefT) to get to my first goal of 180lbs. I was 338 and I am 6ft. tall. 180 puts me in healthy range...and then I will see how much I want to lose after that...

And then there is the tummy tuck....can't wait!

Hey All, I'm a 7/17/07 bandster and so far have ONLY LOST 15 LBS. I can't say I'm being a great girl about it, I do overeat overdrink those empty calorie foods...I don't even feel like I even have a band on...I want to feel more restricted and really begin to see the weight come off.......

Okay guys - my mistake on size of band - have a 4 cc band with 1.5 cc of Fluid - still no restriction - not loosing - but do like wine - which doesnt' help. I have lost about 27# - maybe after this fill on Mon - it will be my "sweet spot" I sure hope so.

I am a primary care giver to my neighbor who has cancer and have not been taking time for myself - walking, watching what I eat - etc. Must get back on the bandwagon! Wish me luck!

I was banded 7/30/07. I have about 3.2 cc in a 4 cc band. Still not a LOT of restriction. I've lost around 40 lbs including the pre-op diet. I'm going back this week. I'm not sure if he'll fill it more or not. It seems like 3.2 is a lot in that size band. I can still eat bread if I eat the crust only. I haven't gotten sick yet but I have that "sliming" sometimes. Anyone else experience that. If so, do you think that means I need no more fill?

I got my band on 7/30 and I've lost 42 lbs. since surgery; 59 since July 1st. I've had two fills, although I don't really feel any restriction. I'm due for a 3rd fill this week. I have found I can't digest certain foods very well. Shrimp is one of them. but if I can lose 10 to 15 lbs. a month, I'll gladly give up the shrimp. I need to improve my Water drinking and I've just recently started exercising.

Annie:

That's great!

I was banded 7/26 and I'm down 92.5 pounds (includes pre-surgery weight loss of 38 pounds). I feel so much better - no sore feet, don't get numb in left leg anymore.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Sue

Sue,

I'm in awe of all the weight you've lost. You go girl!

I can relate to not having pain in your feet. I can actually wear shoes without inserts now and I realized the other day that I was walking down stairs like a normal person because my knees aren't killing me. What a difference a 68 lbs. weight loss makes.

Forget the feet. The pain in my back's gone. I can now walk more that 50 feet without having to stop and sit. Of course, my left knee is still shot and needs to be replaced but another twenty pounds and then I will have that done. I sure can relate to walking down stairs like normal people though.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
