April 2017 sleevers how's it going?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 4/21 - highest weight 224, SW 205 now 163 - I'm down from an 18/20 in jeans to a 10, down from 1x/2x in tops to a Medium... it's unreal most days.
I have collar bones and hip bones, who the heck knew?!
I do feel like I'm starting to see Hair loss (in shower) but I am also hypothyroid so I can't tell if it's that or this. I have crazy curly thick hair so it's not noticeable to anyone but me when I am shedding like a dog.

I started my surgery at 220 and I'm now at 173. My weightloss has slowed down dramatically this last month. It could be due to my workout routine which tends to incorporate a lot of weights.

Most of my body pains are gone and I couldn't be happier. Feet pain, hip pain, leg pain, headaches... my #1 reason for the surgery.

My Hair loss is also pretty ugly right now. Thin hair runs in the family so I've already been dealing with some balding; I was hoping it wouldn't get worse but oh well.

I can definitely eat more in one sitting and eat more variety. Some days I find myself slipping back into the pattern of eating out of boredom. Everyday is a bit of a challenge and that's OK. Before surgery I didn't see myself as a food addict but now I really do recognize that I am addicted to food.

I'm down a total of 80+ pounds, but lately I've been finding myself falling back into some old bad habits. I'm worried about myself because I'm able to eat larger and larger quantities of food (certainly MUCH less than my pre-surgery normal, but more than I'd gotten used to post-op). I'm aware of the problem, but I'm having a tough time fighting it.

Prior to surgery, over the last 5 years or so, I'd stopped having periods. No PMS, no spotting, no bleeding. I believe it was the combination of my high weight/BMI and my Nexplanon implant. Since surgery, I have my period approximately every other week and the pre-menstrual increase in appetite is KILLING ME. I'm non-stop hungry and just want to eat - specifically I want red meat, chocolate, and salty foods. I try to curb these cravings with healthier choices, but with it happening every 10 - 14 days, it's worrying me that I'm undoing my success. I know things will even out at some point, but I don't want to ruin this. Any tips?

I was sleeved on 4/10/2017
SW - 298
HW - 300
CW - 215
I am feeling good so far, I do have my moments though. I can't do Protein Shakes, they make me sick. My latest problem is really bad breath. Looked it up and saw a lot of things about ketosis?? Anyone know anything about this?? Don't need my husband complaining anymore about it.....

I know about ketosis. It's the hallmark of the Adkins Diet. You can buy some strips at your pharmacy that will tell you if you are in Ketosis. It comes from either eating no carbs or very few. It's good for fat burning and losing weight. It can cause bad breath. Might want to try to eat a few more carbs as it doesn't take much to throw you out of ketosis and you can still lose weight without bad breath.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
