I'm not sure what to do at three months out. If I am exempt at this point or not. I will try and see how I manage.

I think 3 months is too early better check with your nut or surgeon before you plan to fast

I was thinking about trying to fast but I am only 1 months and 2 days out. May need to ask my surgeon.

I think you shouldn't you are exempt but you will have to keep it later and make up for it
1 month is too early because one month you can barely eat anything or drink enough

there were times in my life that I couldnt fast. Sacrifice something else. keep your health goals and heal. Also, volunteer to serve food at a community iftar and feed the homeless. God understands because Ramadan is about sacrifice..food is only o ne part. I hope that helps. And during the Eid feed as many in the community as you can. Give gifts to poor families with children. Fasting is more about sacrifice and there are many ways to sacrifice. Health first.

I completed the first day fast. It has been a terrible mistake. I was only able to have on Protein Shake, a few crackers and Water. I got terrible chills and diarrhea. My system is so screwed up today I've been in bed. Not able to fast.

Ohh that's so sad to know i hope you get better just drink enough water and don't fast if you cant .
Well on the other hand mine was good Alhumdulliah first day was hard i felt weak and slept a lot after breaking my fast but i managed to drink a lot of water

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
