I had lost exactly 79.5 pounds at one year post-op. I weighed 218 on surgery day, and on my one-year sleeve anniversary I weighed 138.5 pounds.

It took me approximately 17 months to lose 100 pounds. Yes, I was a slower loser. However, a slow and steady pace is still capable of achieving the goal. Good luck to you.

Congratulations on the 83 pound weight loss[emoji106] I am 9 months post op and was 263 when I started my journey and today 185 (78 pounds), but I have noticed it coming off slower now also.

Sleevers can continue surgery related weight loss for about 1.5 years. After that it'll be up to you, but doable.

You are doing great!

Hi. Thanks for posting this. I'm about 7 weeks out and have been stalled for the last two weeks. I am at 32-33 lbs lost. I have tried upping my calories a little for a few days and then back to my normal daily intake. Just keep bouncing around 32-33 lbs lost. I was walking but having a little issue with my knees when walking. I ordered stationary bike that is supposed to be low impact on the knees. Did anyone else notice a stall at 7 weeks? Seems like this would be too soon.

I didn't notice a stall at 7 weeks because I wasn't weighing myself daily, or even weekly. It's hard to notice stalls when you weigh in no more than once a month.

By the way, it took me an entire 3 months to lose 33 pounds. You accomplished that in less than 7 weeks so you are still doing well. Keep up the good work.

I don't lose weight rapidly but my body keeps getting slimmer. I'm in a size 12 now and haven't lost a single lb yet I was a size 14 2 weeks ago. lol!

Mine is slow and steady but my body is changing more rapidly.

Thanks for the reply, Introversion and LittleLizzielillyput (great name!). I am glad to hear that this is maybe somewhat normal, especially since I'm a band to sleeve revisionist ... I was a little worried going in that I might not lose as much or as quickly due to the band. I'm still optimistic! Especially as you two have lost a good deal of weight! Congratulations, by the way! That is inspirational! Also, "LLL," I have noticed I've gone down 2 dress sizes. Maybe I should take my measurements! Thanks again for the encouraging words!

Yes 33 lbs in 7 weeks is pretty amazing .. i also had a couple stalls in the very beginning but i was also really constipated ALL THE TIME (sorry TMI), it started to discourage me so i stopped weighing myself every day .. i notice it always seems to work its self out . But you are doing an amazing job keep it up !!

Thank you so much! I finally dropped 2 more pounds. And actually (tmi as well) I'm experiencing issues with Constipation as well. :/ I am going to try taking something to help. I guess Metamucil. Thanks again for the encouragement. :)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
