I am 4 days out of operation.. in the Clear Liquids phase of the diet... struggling to get anything down. On the list of food from my doctor, it says yogurts. I believe they need to be sugar free and pretty much "chunk" free. Can anyone recommend a kind/brand for this? Hoping yogurt might get the nasty Protein taste out of my mouth.

I highly recommend Yoplait Greek 100 Protein vanilla yogurt. Its a winner for me. If you can stomach plain yogurt, go for the FAGE plain it has like 20g of protein.

I don't eat artificial sweeteners as my research shows they don't help with weight loss, in fact the opposite occurs. Therefore, I stay away from sugar-free yogurt. Instead, I eat FAGE plain Greek yogurt, which has 20g of Protein in it. I sometimes add fresh puréed fruit or strawberry or chocolate Unjury Protein Powder if I want to flavor it up a little.

Oikos only has Stevia extract. I agree about the Fage though...I love it with fresh blueberries. 😊

Oikos Triple Zero. For me, Coconut Creme. Love it. Also, if you can have milk, Fair Life Skim Milk has 13g Protein in one cup. It's more expensive than regular skim, but tastes like real milk and isn't blue like skim is.

I have been using the car master brand at my local store Krogers I get the car master Protein milk for my Protein Shakes and then I get the carbmaster key lime pie and cinnamon roll flavor yogurts. Yogurts are 9g protein in a 1/2 cup portion.

Thank you all for the advice. I love Greek yogurt but the doc has said specifically to stay away from it while on all liquid the first couple of weeks.

I went with Chobani plain and added a touch of honey when I really wanted some sweetness. I still eat that often when I don't feel like making Breakfast.< br>

I am a fan of the triple zero and ate a lot of it in my early days. Right now I'm kind of off of yogurt because I ate so much in the first couple months.

Also I second Fairlife Milk. I drink a glass every morning and I will have the low-fat chocolate when I want a treat because it's Protein packed.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
