Hey guys! I'm so excited. Just got a call from my insurance coordinator and my gastric bypass has been approved! Just wanted to give you guys a timeline if anyone's curious. (BCBS Michigan)

February 14th: Weight loss surgery orientation

February 28th: began classes that are required by insurance. (8 weeks)

March 6th: first appointment with surgeon.

March 16th: Psychologist appointment. (3 of them, a week apart each time)

April 19th: Last class.

April 20th: Nutrition evaluation (required)

May 3rd: Everything was submitted to insurance for approval.

May 8th: Received the approval.

I have BCBS of Michigan, overall the process was about 3 months total. I'm so excited for the future. [emoji173]

I saw my surgeon for a pre-op this past Monday and she walked me down the hall and stopped at the surgical coordinators office, except she was at lunch but my surgeon put everything on her desk and said she will submit to my insurance. So now I am anxiously awaiting approval.

WOO you're getting so close! Don't be afraid to call your insurance girl! I was approved in less than 24 hours but didn't know it because I didn't call for like 4 days and that info hasn't reached my insurance coordinator yet. The good thing about insurance is you'll never speak to the same person so keep calling asking the status. So excited for you and thanks for the support! [emoji173]
