IMG_3854.thumb.JPG.8f321273a5e26bd2371554818394a195.JPG I tried to tackle things that we use often without thinking that makes us fat. To make a difference with carbs and calories intake to then allow myself to use those calories for better dishes.

That is smart. I don't think to jot stuff down...I can only imagine all the stuff I've forgotten. Good for you hon. I think I'll try the tea alternative. Only because my coffee isn't all it's up to be these days. I think it's the ridiculous sweeteners. Meh. Thanks for sharing!!!

They are inspiring. Behind a great man is a great woman. @Apple1 @Newme17 we salute you. @mishyk i second everything you said.

Awwwww so sweet!! I'd like to think a woman makes the man. 😂 Funny fact: while my husband and I were dating (he didn't want to stop the partying and I was tired of it all) I broke up with him. My mother in law was very upset with him about it. He begged for me for a few weeks until I gave him another chance. Lol. My mother in law tells me every time we get to talking, you are a blessing to a Robert. You helped set him straight. 😂

Indeed. Lol

Lmfaoo woww cheff status.. the presentation looks so nice. Too bad I'm allergic to shrimps.

No!!!! Allergic?! A good friend of mine is. She loves them too. She was crazy though. She actually prepared herself to go to the ER just so she can have some shrimp. Now that was a bit much. But I'm sorry you are. They can be so good!

You girls are so inspiring.. i'm reading the stories about your husbands and i think to myself.. one day i will have a companion. I also dont have kids. I'm 29 years old. I'm trying to give myself all the things i want before someone comes along. But i love the stories of companionships .

Thank you @mishyk.

You are the same age as my son, who is also still single.

Love salmon. I had tuna fish today i did pretty good with 2oz had to do in three parts but it was done plus i jazzed up my Water and made limeade with true lime and equal sugar. Got 60 grams of Protein in also.

I almost decided on tuna. I feel like I'm slacking on trying new things though. You did great on Protein. I confess, I haven't counted today. If I have to guess it'll be about 45g. I'll try harder tomorrow.

That is so funny.

My dh has always been the quiet shy type, very introverted, I guess what they say about opposites attract is true, because I am very social.

We are still rocking the same boat! You described me and my husband. Ha! I'm the social and I have to pull teeth to get him to go anywhere with people. Lol

lol... yes that is my husband to a tee. He is the nicest person you will ever meet and he would give you the shirt off his back, just don't ask him to go to go any big social gatherings... he hates that.

Good night @newme17. I have just been using Listerene. It seems to work a little better than brushing alone.

I'll get some Listerine strips to carry with me then. That should help. I hope they still sell them.

Good morning everyone.

I am shopping for an elliptical machine this weekend and I am wondering if any of you have any advice on a good brand? I don't want to break the.bank, so I am looking to spend $1,000 or less. I hate going to the gym, but I need something that will give me a good workout from home. I don't think just walking is enough.

In other news.... I decided to add a few frozen strawberries to my Protein Shake this morning so I threw it all in my ninja. It tastes great, but the ninja added so many air bubbles. There is literally 2 inches of froth. This is making it hard for me to drink. I am stirring and drinking and burping. Aw well I learned something this morning.

I hope everyone has a good Saturday ☺️

Good morning. NordicTrack and Precor are the ones I know of that are pretty good. Provided you want to spend all the $1000...some might be in the $700 range though. Also depends on if you want all the extra gadgets on them too. You could always go with a cheaper one, under $500, but might need to really look in to reviews and how long they may last, etc. Do you have a fitness equipment store that allows you to try the floor model machines in your area? That would be a good way to determine as well.

I don't like frothy drinks. I can imagine all the air already. lol. Bet it's good with the strawberries though. I'm eating cream of wheat with cocoa powder and stevia added. I need to add in my green bombs (frozen ice cube sized blended mix of kale, spinach, ginger, green apple, avocado, and cucumber) to a Protein Drink later. I miss my fruits and veggies...I'm actually cleared for them on Monday but I think I'll start early and see how it goes.

Well, I thank you. Tuna, has always been my love and go to food. Enjoy. You guys rock. It can be done the bulk of the Protein comes from pre made Premier Protein 30grams and i have muscle milk 20 grams.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
