Sometimes I wish I liked yogurt but I would starve to death on Water before I eat it. I wasn't super crazy about it after surgery, but post-op it is nastiest thing on earth.

The Peanut Butter Quest powder is really good. You can make awesome Cookies with it.

You can also make your own ice cream. I did, when I was less lazy and halo top was harder to find.

I want to make my own Protein ice cream and frozen yogurt. after all I got an ice cream maker as a wedding gift almost ten years ago that I NEVER EVER USED lmao. maybe I could finally change that!

I've had a few bites of popcorn since my surgery and it was fine, because popcorn isn't a *thing* for me. I can take it or leave it. Nutrition-wise, it's not worth the space and otherwise not worth the time it takes me to floss my teeth, so it's probably a 'safe' thing for me to have around.

Popcorn sounds like it might be a *thing* for you, so I'd caution you to avoid it or be veryveryvery careful when eating it or spending time around it. My *thing* is sweet baked goods. I'd cut one of my kids for a blueberry scone or a slice of red velvet cake. So they aren't a part of my life...I can't be trusted alone with them, and they aren't nutritionally worth the space in my stomach.

You truly have to make your decisions about food very carefully and very thoughtfully. I crashed and burned at about 5 months on a cookie binge...took me 2 weeks to stop wanting to buy cookies/bake cookies/order Cookies at restaurants/steal cookies from Girl Scouts. YMMV, but it seems to be a common point among us all, having a *thing* that might be a good idea to avoid.

Lol that's hilarious!

I eat popcorn. For me, it is a super filler, and on days when I'm exercising extra hard, I need more carbs in my day so I will eat popcorn and I do fine. No adverse reactions except that I might not be hungry for the rest of the day if I eat it, so I may be forcing down Protein Shakes to get my minimum in.

This has been an interesting post. My eating has been off for the past two weeks. I have been eating junk every day. I have resolved myself that I have to reset. I am 3 months post-surgery and am down 40 lbs. I'm not sure how I got so far off track, but I know that the cravings of your mind are very strong and it's important to have the right Snacks and foods around so I won't be so tempted for those things that led me to get this surgery in the first place. I find this community very helpful and supportive. I'm glad I opened this post today. Good luck to you all.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
