I'm in the Phoenix area looking for a mentor/buddy for ESG. Haven't found a surgeon yet but I'm going to start with the Mayo Clinic. Since it's cheaper than the laparoscopic procedure I'm pretty sure it's covered by my plan (United Healthcare Choice Plus). Feel free to email me to share your experience and make a new friend.

I went to the Phoenix location but of course they don't perform it there, only Minnesota offers it. Even worse, my insurance doesn't cover any bariatric procedures

Well thats disappointing I'm not sure who else does that procedcure in our area. I guess I will check again and see if any other Drs do that surgery around here. I bet my insurance wont cover it they hardly cover anything. I really didnt want any of the other surgeries they are too invasive. What do you think you will do next?

The only Drs that perform it are in Minnesota, NYC and Boston to the best of my knowledge. It is still new surgery and not covered by most (if any) insurance in the US.

Well since I'm fasting for Ramadan my stomach has shrunk anyway. I guess that will have to do temporarily. I have too much debt I want to pay off before surgery.
