Losing more of my bottom half than top?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! So I'm currently 4 months post op my starting weight was 345 and I'm currently at 260!! (YAY!) so I've lost a very good amount already which I am super grateful for! Unfortunately I see that a lot of my lower half has gotten much smaller than my mid section! I feel as if my belly and back fat aren't going anywhere! lol I was just wondering did anyone else go through this and did it change as time went on? Did u eventually lose in the mid section as well? Any advice or responses are appreciated! Thanks ! [emoji5]

I've heard that it's challenging to see it since it comes off so quick. Would you be willing to try measuring tape to check your progress that way too?

I've never even thought to do that! That's actually a good idea...just because your right...it's coming off so quickly that everyone else is complimenting me but I don't see that my belly has gotten smaller like my hips and thighs! Measuring tape it is thank you!

I've heard that the weight comes off the areas it was last out on first... Hmm, does that make sense? I've always been bigger in thighs and hips, I started gaining in my midsection in the last couple of years. I am 4 months post op and have lost most of my midsection and back fat. Working on legs and hips now. You are doing great! Keep up the hard work, we will all be successful!

Yes, you will eventually even out! I carried most of my weight in my midsection and it was not really until I lost the last 50% of the weight that I started to see a drastic difference in that area. I'm now a few lbs below goal and while I have a small belly "flap", my waist is now defined and proportional to the rest of my body. Congrats on your success!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
