It is all different depending on which program you are in. My program had me on Puree for a day, and then I have been on solids since day 4 post op, but that is absolutely not normal.

My stages are clear liquids for a week, full liquids (1-2 weeks) depending on how you are doing (I am doing 2 weeks in case), then puree for a week, soft foods for a week, and week 6 you are on solid foods :)

I was on puréed food a week out from surgery and then soft foods a week after that and will be on it for another week or so... then I will be on regular diet.

Liquids 7-10 days
Purée 4-6 weeks
Soft 4-6
Solid

Seminar 12/27/16: wt 304
Surgery 3/23: wt 287
2 week post: 267

My surgeon had me on clear liquids for the first four days, full liquids for a couple of days, pureed foods for five days, soft foods for a week, then regular foods as soon as I could tolerate the soft foods and get at least 700 calories a day. So I began regular foods about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks after surgery. I haven't had any problems with food -- I just need to be careful of sugar and sugar alcohols, especially on an empty stomach.
