October Exercise Challenge!

Recommended Posts

I walked for just 37 minutes today. I've actually started having some shin pain. I don't know if its from the new walking shoes or because I've been pushing myself to walk faster and longer. Either way, I'm doing more stretching and going to slow down for a few days. I still want to make the Oct. challenge though so I've got to keep walking!

Just returned from #10. I got caught in a torrential downpour about halfway through my walk and I am soaked to the bone -- but I still feel great!

Becky you are doing an AWESOME job!!!

Sorry to hear about your shin pain. Do you think it might help to alternate between your old shoes and new shoes for a few days?

Hmmm -- I think there were some website problems today. I am glad that it's back up again!!!

#11 was another very wet and soggy workout -- we have a storm system hanging around here that just won't go away.......

Yeah! 2 more days of exercise. It is much easier when you are on solid foods again! We are moving to an upstairs apartment so I am going to have to say goodbye to my treadmill. However, I am going to get a swimming pass so that will be my new exercise starting Tuesday. It is a lot cheaper than a gym membership and right next door to my work, so I can go first thing in the morning.

I walked for 40 minutes this evening. My shins are feeling better and I'm going to make the October challenge. I'm taking it right down to the wire, but I am going to make it. Today was super busy and I know I would not have walked this evening if I wasn't trying to meet this month's goal. I don't know why this little commitment works for me, but it does so I'm going to keep it up. Oh, and take a look at my ticker. I got a small fill today and I've now made it past the 50 pounds lost mark. Woo Hoo!

Keep up the good work Salsa and Frangi. Ya'll are doing great!

SUCCESS, I have survived my October challenge. I just spent 4 days in the NC mountains, so walking was a REAL challenge. Boy did I miss the flat lands..LOL

I also found that motorcycle riding in the mountains was a good upper body workout. Each night it felt like someone used me for a punching bag.:faint::faint::faint:

well I am bummed as I missed my goal by one day but know that that day was missed because of health issues and could not be gotten back. In bed after a shot for a Migraine. next month will be better. good news is I still managed to lose 12 lbs this month and required no fill even though I fill no restriction. doc says why mess with a good thing.

good job to all that met or exceeded their goals

Hi Gweniper,

11 workouts that's wonderful!!! So you missed goal by one workout -- absolutely NO reason to be bummed about that. And 50 Lbs lost so far???? Cause for celebration I would say :clap2::clap2::clap2:

I am truly amazed at the amount of weight you (we) August bandsters are losing.

This year the treadmill -- next year the Catwalk!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
