I'm May 22! Per my surgeon's instructions at the initial consult I have to lose about five more pounds before my pre op appointment May 12 but I've been losing weight at a good clip so I'm not worried. It's great prep for the post-surgical changes since I'm mostly doing Liquid Protein.< br>
My biggest concern is what to tell people at work. I'll be out for 4-5 weeks and then come back and (hopefully) be losing significant amounts of weight. I want to keep it private but am worried everyone will guess...

Good for you!

I just had my pre-op appointment last week, but not having surgery until May 22. It was the only date before surgery they were having the NUT and bypass classes when my DH and I could make it.

So far my Surgical team is saying 2 weeks recovery. I would feel much better if I had more time to adjust to everything.

My direct boss and executive both know the reason I'm having surgery. I plan to tell everyone else I'm watching what I eat and getting more exercise. That's pretty much what's going to be happening 😉

I've finished all my appointments, they submitted my case over last Friday, and told me I needed to see a cardiologist for some abnormalities they saw in my EKG, I got back for a stress test next Wednesday. The cardiologist said what he saw were minor abnormalities and that it's probably nothing. Hopefully I hear back from Aetna before then and will have date shortly after!

I'm ok thank u. I was doing well in the hospital but got discharged the morning after my surgery [emoji37] which was incredibly hard because I wasn't able to take pain medication or use gas relief tablets because putting anything into my system made me very nauseous. They still do but I'm doing better today I'm getting in a minimum of 4-6 oz of Water an hour which isn't that good but better than getting 2 oz every other hour. The gas pain was unreal tho, it was deeply embedded into my shoulders to the point where getting up felt like my lower half wasn't strong enough to hold my upper body.. I felt like every time I moved I was carrying a 100 pound weight on my back it was really painful. It's still there but it's much easier to move around today. I'm still like kinda out of it because of the heavy sedation but my surgery went well and I didn't have any complications. How are you?

I am doing great! Day 1 was tough but u have been great since. Spent one night in the hospital and haven't had to take pain meds since coming home. I have had no problem with Water or Protein. Getting a little stir crazy around the house but I don't want to push anything the first week. How are you?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
