Dr Krish in Dade City? any thoughts please

Recommended Posts

Can anyone please let me know if they have any experience with Dr. Krish (short form) in Dade City/Zepheryhills? I know he is associated with Dr. Grossbard, and from other posts on here, not so good things about that doc. I have been approved for surgery, and just need to come up with remaining $ (2300) for the surgeon/hospital fees. I urge you to give me all comments to help me decide. Thanks so much.

PS: if I decide to go to another doc, do I have to reapply with my insurance for approval? IF so, how long does that take?

I see Dr. Krishnaraj, so far I like him just fine. He is a little ..distant.. toward his patients but I would think you would have to be in some respect, as to not to get too attached in case something were to happen. He answers all of my questions just fine and I really like the staff, most of them have had the surgery too ..at least I know Barbara and Erica have.

My surgery is scheduled Oct 12th ..so I'll repost after that and let you know about his bedside manner.

I had my surgery Friday. I had to arrive at 6:30 to Pasco Regional. Everything went pretty fast. The surgical nurse and anesthesia guy were great ..I don't remember his name, he was older with salt and pepper hair, very funny and clever, he took my mind off of everything.

My surgery was scheduled for 8am, but we were actually heading down the hall at about 7:40 and I was done by 8:20. I'm not sure how long I stayed in recovery, I lost track of time with little cat naps, but I was in my room upstairs by 11ish ..I think ..and then discharged at 1pm.

Dr. Krish was great, I have no complaints about him at all.

Jim ..thanks for the heads-up on the meeting date and time, I was going to call the office today to find out when the next one is. I will do my best to be there, as I only live 5 minutes away, however since I am still on Clear liquids I lack any sort of ability to move my butt in the morning LOL. I am lethargic ..but excited!

I had my surgery with Dr. Murr in Tampa st because he is one of the best surgeons doing barbaric surgery over 1,500 procedures along with many revisions of botched surgeries. Secondly he is one of the only preferred providers in the area for my insurance BC/BS.

I went to Dr. Grossbards class before you start your surgery process I we didn't "click" . I waited over a year to find a surgeon that I did like. The one I found was really good. if you are not comfortable with your surgeon look around there are many good surgeons available to you.

Hope this helps

Jim

Good to hear your positive experience with Pasco Regional, I'm headed there next Friday (10/26). Dr. DiCicco is performing my surgery who is in with Dr. Grossbard and Dr. Krish. No experience with Dr. Krish, he's never been there when I've been at the office.

Thanks for all your thoughts so far. I did go to the seminar at Tampa General; no doctor there, just assistants.

The seminar was very negative, pushy, and unfriendly. I was disapointed that the doc was not there for all those people taking time off of work to go to the seminar. I went to one in Orlando, University Hospital of Tampa, and then to Zephyrhills with Dr Krish. I chose Dr Krish and office/hospital for a few reasons: close by for fills, and in-network with Aetna. I was contemplating going to

Tampa General, but not sure how that would work, as I have been approved for surgery with Dr Krish?

Plus I do have to pay approx $1025 (surgeon), and $2350 for the hospital; out of pocket. My insurance only pays so much. ;)

Well enough rambling....I hope my schedule will let me see ya'll at one of the sat meetings, as I work every other sat. So far, the meeting has been every sat I work. Take care,

Debbie :ranger:

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
