Haven't lost and is one week out

Hello,

I had my surgery on Friday and I have actually gained a pound since the morning of. I have not had any solid food only diluted juice, fat free broth, fat free milk and water. I got in 32 ounces of water yesterday and I am walking around frequently. Any suggestionson how to ge the scales moving? I'm a little worried.

Thanks

Best suggestion is to not worry about getting the scales to move! :D

You get pumped full of fluids while at the hospital. I had an extended stay but regardless I ended up coming home weighing 5-6lbs more than I did the day of surgery. It isn't that uncommon to not see much loss in the first week as your body adjusts. Just keep focusing on walking and getting your protein & water. Those are two things that can hinder weight loss if you aren't hitting your daily goals. Don't try to physically overdo it with walking/exercising. Isn't worth the risk of something happening and facing a setback.

Don't worry, you'll see the scale move soon enough. Good luck!

Hey, there's absolutely no need to worry about the scale moving in the first week! Your body just had a major trauma with this surgery and is working to heal itself. You're probably a bit bloated and watered down, so retaining a little weight is not unusual. Try to stay off the scale for awhile until you start feeling more like yourself. Keep drinking and walking. You're doing everything right--it'll come off soon!

I am 5 days post op. I have not gotten on scale yet nut I know I lost weight because I can see it
When I look in mirror.
I lost 7 lbs on liquid diet 2 days before surgery.
After being in hospital with Iv in for fluids I gained 7lbs back.
I knew I gained because my fingers were swelling.
I will get on scale in 2 days when I go for follow up.
