You tell us. Take a drink of Water the way you used to and report back to us.

I'm more than two years past surgery and I can't drink water the way I used to. I used to chug it. If I tried that now, I'd be in so much pain. Chugging is no longer "normal". What I do now is now "normal".

I was 3 months yesterday. I don't sip...but I don't gulp either. Try it out for yourself... you'll see that if you gulp it may hurt a little.

I'm almost 3 months post op and do I still have to sip sip sip my Water or can I drink normal now?

I am two weeks post op. Are used to chug Water to the point a 20 ounce bottle did not die quickly enough I never picked one up twice. Now two ounces is about all the swallow I can do. I don't have to sip the water unless my pouch is full about 3 1/2 ounces my guess. At that point I must see up or wait a while before taking another good swallow. Chugging will become no more than a memory to me. A good swallow maybe two will be my new norm

I'm 10 days post op and I don't sip...but I don't gulp either. Even my doctor was wondering how was I doing this so early after surgery. My stomach isn't stretched, I feel the restriction when I eat something (like yogurt). I never had any stomach pain after surgery, not one twinge.

I'm 4 days post surgery and I can take bigger sips of Water now too. Must be sitting up nice and straight. But no longer little sips. If I take too much in my mouth at once I swallow it in intervals.

I have never had to sip although I thought I had to after reading so many stories of people that said " sip sips sip" lol...
I drink pretty much exactly like I did before the op. There's been a few times I have swallowed to much air with it and it's hurt but nothing major

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
