Any Petite Sleevers? Under 5' ...??

Recommended Posts

This is the best thread! I've 5'. I started at 211 and was 178 when I had my surgery in Dec. I swelled up like a balloon after surgery and gained 16lbs from the fluids and swelling. I'm working my ass off in the gym (literally) and sticking to my diet. I'm getting there! It's good to have a group of people who get it. We have fewer total pounds to lose so it comes off slower, but that doesn't make us less deserving of celebrating our triumphs!

Hi all
I am 5'6" and I weight 220lbs will be having the sleeve on the tenth of march 2017. I did not tell my family about this but my husband and my girls know about it. My family always asks me when they avent seen me in a while I I had gained weight and I tell them no I am the same as the last time you seen me. Why do they always do that i don't know but they will have a big surprise this coming summer when they see me. Lol. I would bet that if I told them that I am doing this they would be against it.

Hi all, I am 65 years young and only 4' 11" tall and my first weight with my nutritionist was 279 lbs. I should have done this years ago and so begins my journey. My surgery date is 3/7 and I begin my pre-op protocol on Tuesday. I am so ready. Medicare just started covering the sleeve so that was a plus. My family is very supportive so I am so ready for this.

Hello everyone,
I'm 4'10 current weight 217. My surgery is 9/18. I love that everyone is short on this thread. Does anyone mind sharing some before and after pictures. Does it really come off slower because we have less to lose?

I'm getting prepared for my surgery on Feb 21st - I haven't exactly been shy avout telling frienda/coworkers about what I'm doing. But i AM shocked at how many say I don't need this... i don't think they understand that being 4'11" and 205 lbs is NOT fine. It doesn't matter, because this is for ME, not them; but just wondering how many other P.S's there are that may have heard this?? [i hide it VERY well....lol]

I'm 4'11" and yes I can totally relate, they don't realize how hard it is to carry around 220 lbs. They keep saying that I can do it by myself. My SW 238
PREOP 209
CW 190
I was just sleeved on June 21 St and at times I'm wondering if I did the right thing I'm sick of being so tired, is this normal?

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
