It's day 8 of liver shrinking diet

Recommended Posts

Last week was absolutely awful, but this week is so amazing. I had no idea how I was going to stop the cravings and control myself, but I went through the sugar withdrawals and I'm on the other side. I feel like I have more energy, I'm happier, I'm more alert and less foggy headed. I feel great. Tell me, do I feel like this after bypass too?

Idk if you will be, but I'm hoping I feel like you do soon. Currently on day 2.

It's hard but you have to keep pushing. I'm on day 3 of my 3 week liquid diet as well.

It is okay!
This is a lifestyle change forever. It's not going to be easy and I believe in order for it to stick, we have to gradually change. I think if I could have lost weight alone, I wouldn't need this surgery in the first place. So I'm weak. But this surgery will make me stronger. So don't beat yourself up for falling. Just get back up and keep your eyes on the prize :)

Day two. Did great until 8pm. Had a pb and j :-(

Girl you gotta keep your eye on the prize. This surgery is a tool, but if you can't keep yourself from reaching for what hurts you, the surgery won't work. The first few days by the end of the day I was so hungry, I just went to sleep instead of cheating.

I am so happy to hear this. I am on day 7 of my 2 week preop diet and now I'm starting to question why I can't have meat. i think I'm craving it.

You're on the liver shrinking diet? My dr told me to have 4 oz of lean meat so I've been eating chicken

you're so lucky! Yes I'm on the liver shrinking diet but only 4 shakes a day, veggies, and clear broth, SF Jello.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
