Sorry to hear that you feel this way. Your only day 4 post op. You just went through a life changing experience for the better. You have to trust the process. You didn't come this far to doubt your self. The pain and the hungar will pass. Three weeks from now your going to look and the mirror at the new you. Oh love!! Hang in there, you CAN do this!!

I know it's hard, this is the worst it's gonna be. It gets a little better every day.

Are you on an acid reducer? It's important because extra acid in the stomach can feel like hunger. I didn't believe people and then I got on the meds and Holy Cow! It's true!!

I know how horrible this is, you are going to be OK. What is your support system at home?

Never realized how extra hooked i was but we will get thru this...just keep the goal in sight...only thing that curves my hunger so far is a suger free vanilla puddin with a scoop of protien...hope that helps

Errrm... there's no such thing as 'cheating' post op. The post op diet is an instruction, not a nutritional advice. It's like when a person has a compound fracture of the leg and the dr says don't bear any weight on the leg, only for the person to try and run on the treadmill 3 days later....
It's dangerous.

I had that feeling of regret about a week post op. I just didn't think I was strong enough! But guess what, I was and so are you! You will make it and do great. I can't lie - the first 2 months SUCKED. The losing weight was awesome but liquids, to puree, and finally soft foods about killed me. I hated every minute of it but I did it and now that it's all behind me I would do it again in a heartbeat. I'm not being negative at all - I'm more of a realist. The surgery was a breeze - I was off pain killers by the time I left the hospital the next day. It was that silly mind game that food has always played on me!

It's important to stick to your doctor's plan because your new tiny tummy has to heal!

I remember how hungry I thought I was for the first week. Just stay the course. It gets so much better once you are on solid foods. Most of it is head hunger. I agree about the acid reducer once your Dr clears you for meds. Hang on and don't let hunger get the best of you!

I found the first 6-7 days post-op were awful. Give it a week or two and you'll be Skipping around in no time [emoji173]

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
