Most place s give you a chin strap to keep your mouth closed. You must open your mouth during the night at some point because that what causes it. I have 2

My CPAP has a heated hose to provide a humid air flow. Helps the dry mouth. If you have the same, try adjusting humidity level.

You might want to have the doctor turn down the pressure on your CPAP. That is what I did and I don't get the dry mouth anymore.

I need to design a few ultra cool CPAP masks. Being single when I have a friend stay over it is quietly slid under the Bed lol.

Luckily my machine has a reservoir for distilled Water and also the adjustable heat settings to prevent dry throat.

Erica2185 : you may be sleeping with your mouth open. If that is the case the machine can not do its job. You may have to get the nose/ mouth type . I have the same issue, even with the chin strap. Dr. said that I continue to stop breathing at that point ( not as much as before) and i may have to go the the nose/ mouth type of apperatus.will know when I go for my next
appoitment.

I have a nose/mouth mask because I can't breathe through my nose at all. You should be able to adjust the humidity levels and a heated tube really helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
