My surgeon has suggested that I get a boob lift and implants. I not sure if I should get the implants. What is everyone opinion on this?

I met with the ps two weeks ago. I'm waiting to hear if insurance will cover mine. I lost 87lbs and went from a 36j/k to a 32HH - so smaller to be sure but I'm still all boobs. [emoji30]

It depends what outcome you want. What size are you now, what size do you want to be?

Kate - how do you compare surgeries from a pain and recovery perspective?

Both have been fine. I have some necrosis but the hospital have been great and are dealing with it at the moment. I had quite a lot done at once, that and my age meant that I didn't bounch back as easy as if I were in my 20's.

All the surgeons seem to think I would only be happy with implants I did not want the hassle or the expense of having to replace them every 6 to 10 years. Mine have been reconstructed I went from an F to a B or C cup. Find a PS that listens to you.

This is what I'm afraid of, still being big after a loss. I am a 40H (although I'm sure I could go higher since my bras are a bit snug now). I'd love to be a C or D. Had enough of ginormous boobs.

Same here. Once I met with the surgeon I am so ready to just do this. Ideally I'd be finished and recovery by the first part of April. My insurance usually takes about three weeks for approval. I sure hope I can get it done.

I was told that if you're happy with the size you are when wearing a bra (boobs all propped up) then you only need a lift (they rearrange your own tissue), if you think they are too small in a bra... then you need implants.

How long after you reach goal do you have to wait to get your boobs done? I'm currently a 42i and cannot wait to have these puppies done. Some plastic surgeons did a presentation about post-WLS procedures at a support group and they said something about patients having to stabilize at goal for a while (a year? I can't recall what they said). It seemed like you first needed to prove that you wouldn't gain the weight back :(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
