Anyone returning home via American Airlines post op ?

Recommended Posts

I have an expiring upgrade (by Feb. 28) on American Airlines that I thought would be nice to give a fellow bariatric patient who might be flying a distance and would appreciate the extra room (obviously you won't be able to enjoy the food or drink). You need to already have your ticket purchased. Upgrades aren't always available and I'll want to make sure it clears immediately when requested. Let me know if you are interested.

What a nice offer! I'm a Diamond Medallion on Delta, so I know how much flying it takes to earn those upgrades.

I just flew home on Southwest from SDO to KCI. Man was it rough!! I went with Southwest cause it was cheaper. I wish I would have gone with a different airline.

I usually fly Delta cause I work for Delta and can fly standby for free.

That is such a nice offer for you to offer someone else your upgrade.

@Itsjustjustin and @mbuczkowski

Where are you connecting. Is it DFW? Likely one of the legs won't even have a first class. But Private message me your dates/flight number so I can check the aircraft as well as availability to upgrade.

You too @mbuczkowski PM me your outbound to San Diego. At this point I haven't had any takers and will see if I can help with the going there part.

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
