  2. Tamiflu has to be prescribed and usually within 24-72 hrs after exposure (I think). I had the flu 1 wk post op and had to break open Tamiflu pills...it was absolutely awful! Definitely go in and get tested for either flu and/or strep and if it's either one, your doc will prescribe the correct meds. Hoping that it's neither b/c both are awful to deal with. Get well soonď Sent from my SM-G900P using BariatricPal mobile app

  4. Wow, you've lost quite a bit in such a short time. My surgery date was 12/22. SW: 251 CW: 234 I workout 4 days a week ever since 3 wks post op at Orange Theory. I would be over the moon if I was already at 210. Stalls happen, minor gains happen. Just keep doing what you're supposed to do and the weight will come off. Congratulations on your journey so far, you're doing amazing! Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

  10. I had no idea how emotional I would be. The smallest things would happen around the house (like wifi not working) and I would just start crying like crazy. I was very emotional after both the c-sections I had, but I blamed that on post-pregnancy changes and sleep deprivation. Apparently, I'm just very emotional after surgeries. 11. Cell charger, lotion, Aquaphor (it's very dry in hospitals-used it for lip balm and hand cream), toothbrush/paste, small air freshener, earbuds/headphones, I wore an old maternity skirt under my hospital gown so I wouldn't have to worry about flashing everyone during my hall walks, extension cord, slippers. I also took a fruit and granola bar basket so the nurses could grab a snack whenever they came to my room just as a "thank you" for taking care of me. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

  14. I visited 3. The first was a bit of a drive from my house (only because of Dallas traffic). Thankfully I found someone a little closer who was also amazing with a very supportive and awesome staff so I went with them! I think you should definitely consult with more than 1 surgeon just to make sure you are 100% comfortable with not only the surgical aspect, but the aftercare as well. 15. The last time I checked, I didn't store my personality in my thighs...lol! As someone who's been a healthy weight and then morbidly obese all within the span of 10 years, I can tell my personality didn't change but I did become more anxious about not wanting to leave the house at the large weight I've become. If anything, I would think losing weight would make you more outgoing...how could that be bad? I suggest you attend a bariatric support group and talk to a wide range of people from different age groups and different walks of life who've gone through the process. They'll be able to give you feedback regarding their experience rather than just gaining the info from 1 friend. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

  20. I can cancel at anytime with no extra fee. It's $59 a month which is a little pricey, but you can go as many times a day as you want and you always have a trainer available. My husband who is in pretty good shape left wanting to throw up, lol. They push you hard and help motivate you the entire way. Hands down, the hours I would spend at a gym myself doesnt even come close to the 30 min workout with them. They let you try it for free, give it a try. I just cancelled with PF and was actually looking at orangetheory too, lol. Sent from my LGMS550 using the BariatricPal App Aww, poor hubby! That sounds like an amazing workout though! Thanks for the info! That's actually cheaper than Orange Theory, which is $89/mo for 8 visits. The nearest 9Round is a bit of a drive for me, but it might be worth it. I'll look into doing the free class! Thanks again! Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

  23. That's awesome! I currently workout at planet fitness and orange theory. 9Round seems pretty cool! Do you mind me asking how much it is per month and are you committed to a specific time frame to keep your membership? Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

  26. After trying MANY different brands of Protein shakes, I now use Iconic Protein Shakes. I get them from Sprouts for about $2.50 each. The vanilla and coffee flavors are my favorite. Definitely keep trying to find a brand that you like, post surgery shakes will be your best way of getting your protein. You could also but unflavored Protein Powder and put it in broth or Jello, but for me, I didn't really like the texture Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  27. My NUat recommended Optisource. It's a chewable tablet that you take 4 times per day. It's much easier not having to juggle a bunch of different pills and combinations. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
