Anyone in Palm Beach County, FL?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I"m new here at Bariatric Pal. I'm in Royal Palm Beach, FL and I'm 43 and I"m also semi-new to South Florida so I don't know many people here. I am just starting the process so it could be up to 6 months (insurance rules) before i can actually get surgery. I'd love to add some of you as friends who stay pretty active on here so I can learn from you and follow you in your journey to getting healthy!

Thanks!

Jamie

Hi Jamie,

I am a little further south than you in Broward County, but would love to be each other's support! I am 40 and have a scheduled surgery date of March 2, so a few more weeks for me.

Take care,

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca, thanks for your reply. I'd love to support each other! March 2 is right around the corner. I'm actually getting my endoscopy the same day! Best of luck to you!

Jamie

Jamie-I live in Loxahatchee and am having surgery 7/14. I am 46 and am definitely interested in being "surgery buddies".

Hey Molly, sorry I've been off this site for a while. Loxahatchee is super close to me. I actually moved to Wellington. Are you on Facebook? I'm a member of several groups on FB, one of them is a July Sleevers group for people getting sleeved in July. The address to the group is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1250105091764531/

Our surgery dates are close also. I'm being sleeved on 7/18 and I'm currently doing my liquid diet.

I'm 39 and in same area. How are you all doing? Have you had surgery? Who are your surgeons? I'm scheduled for July 26

Hi! My surgery date is 7/18 so I"m currently on liquid diet. I'm having it done at Wellington Hospital with Dr. Kaza. You should join the July Sleevers group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1250105091764531/

I joined-just waiting for approval from the admin. Yes we live VERY close. I leave 7/14 to travel to California then Mexico for surgery on 7/18. My doctor only required liquid diet 3 days prior to surgery, but I started on 7/5 so I can get used to it. It is very rough but sugar free popsicles are my best friend right now! Excited and nervous! Mostly excited:). I look forward to seeing our progress!

I have a friend that had surgery in Mexico in September. She's lost 125 lbs and is doing so well. I've contemplated surgery for years, but after watching her success, I finally made the decision to do it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
