Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi

I have decided to get the procedure done - just have to save up for it. I live in uk and want to go to Brussels as it seems cheapest and safest there. Anyone know of the above?

Thanks

Dizzy Debs hope ur feelin better soon, I felt cr*p first couple of days and I'm not goin to lie journey home alone was very uncomfortable. After flight and 100 mile coach journey I was cream crackered. But as I think bobo said once home I felt much better. I saw good improvement everyday (by day 5 I was brushing garden although I don't recommend this)

Freckles best wishes for ur procedure, Great to hear ur Mum got home. Have a fab holiday it sounds brill.

Hiya all, just checking if I am right on my timetable for eating. I was done last Tuesday, am I right in thinking its mushies tomorrow. I left the info in my travelbag which has been put in the loft I think! Will have to get it down tomorrow.

Also are these sorts of things ok for mushies??

Mashed potatoes, mashed up carrots, broccoli, turkey mince?

So glad you're feeling better and looking to eat! If you have a look on page 447 (I think) of the forum, you'll find a list I posted of suggested liquids and mushies. Do take it slowly; I'm a month in and still find it difficult to eat some things - not bad for the weight loss, but a little tiresome on occasions.

Hope this helps

Hiya, I looked at the list thanks for that its really good. I am finding eating fine to be honest. I am really worried about it as I just had 2 crispbreads with tuna mixed in guacamole on. I do feel satiated but found eating them fine. My first bite was a bit uncomfortable and I felt like it went down very slowly, but after that the rest was fine. I am so worried this isn't going to work for me. I am having a fill at the end of the month so hopefully that will have more of an effect on me. I have lost a few lbs though in this last week.

Hi Freckles...............Just wanted to wish you 'Good Luck' for tomorrow. It will all be worth it in the end. You must feel so much better since your visit to Freddieboy. How is your grandaughter?

Starskey.........Where are you, we need to arrange our meeting. How are you since your banding?

Its funny reading this thread and seeing sooo many new names and not so many of the old ones at the moment.

Take Care Everyone Old and New

Jackie

Bless you Maggs, not sure if i want to know though lol.

Ignorance is bliss sometimes.

Thanx for being so sweet xxxx

Good luck Freckles. You went for 2 gastric band ops and Im sure this procedure wont be anywhere near that, although that wasnt too bad. Be brave girl, thinking of you. Jx:sneaky:

thanks00096.gif

for your kind wishes, I do feel better after having 3mls taken out, and I'm starving cos I havent been able to eat since thursday cos of this Colonoscopy, roll on tonight when it will all be over. Havent got to be at the hospital till 4pm !! Stupid time.

My grandaughter is coming on a treat thought I'd share these pics with you.

Gabrielle's mum put this hat on her and she hates it, she cries, so I think it must be uncomfortable for her.

You can see by the second pic her lip is starting to quiver, just after I had taken this pic she burst into tears God love her lol.

I know I've had 2 gastric bands fitted, but this Colonoscopy is just apprehension, fear of the unknown and I am bricking it Maggs , cos I'm a big baby 347jwwg.jpg

The best thing to take for your liver is Milk Thistle tablets, most of us on here took them before the surgery, they come highly recommended, in shrinking and cleansing your liver.

Also avoid any fatty products, hope thats of some help. A low fat diet is the one to be doing Sherrybabe.

Hiya

Thanks you all for your messages and support. I am feeling so much better. Dr Chris said I had a haematoma on the opposite side of the port which is what is causing the pain. They could have operated again but he said it was quite small and would go on its own but would take about 6 weeks.

I was planning on going back to work next week, but I'm just taking it on a day by day basis at the moment.

For anyone going over to Brussels soon, I cannot praise the hospital, hotel and staff enough. You will be well looked after.

Knackered, back to bed for me.

Hi Everyone

Lots of new faces!

Freckles...im finding it easy to maintain at the moment but im definatley not losing! I have decided that i want to lose another stone so i have changed my ticker accordingly. I have also just given myself quite an aggressive fill and made a massive batch of smooth vegetable soup to see me through the week! Im so glad that you were able to eat a reasonably normal meal and good luck!

Im not on here as much but if anyone has anything they need help with or any questions please just pm me, i dont want to miss peoples questions if i have not been on for a while and there are 100 pages to read!

xx

Hello love

How much is in your band? Are you finding it difficult because you are not restricted? How long till your next fill?

If your head is not in the right place right now i think you have 2 options...

1) Just go with it and eat what you want within reason until your next fill.

2) Go completley hardcore until your fill...this normally works for me. Do slimfast or just make yourself thick soups to have etc Dont give yourself the option to eat anything else. I know this is drastic but its the only way it works for me. I need the band to control how much i can eat, if its not doing that then i have to strip it right back to basics like i did when i lost weight before the band. Of course i always used to put the weight back on again but you wont because its only until you get a fill.

People say to me now 'as you have lost the weight now are you going to have the band removed' um NO, if i dont have restriction i will eat and eat and eat i know this because i still do it now if im not tight enough. Its OK to struggle, we have all struggled probably most of our lives so its going to take more than a few months or a year to learn to eat like thin people without a bit a plastic round your stomach.

Just dont get too stressed about it, your band will work its just not 100% at the moment!

xx

Hi freckles, your granddaughter is so delightful, Sian is still hanging on she's due on Wed.

I hope you investigation went ok, I have been thinking about you.

Bless you girls, she is a cutie but then I am biased.

Carrie, people always say that dont they, err no...we wouldnt get the band removed to have to start over, silly people duh, its not a magic tool, and its not so easy as people may think as we all know.

The delightful thing I find about it is, that we get full so fast, and that is once we've gotten used to it.

Even after having 3mls taken out I find I can only eat extrememly small portions, which is brilliant I am loving this band more than life itself.

I ate 1 slice of wholemeal toast this morning for brek, and hubby just cooked sausage and black pudding of which I could only manage 2 bites of sausage, that was lunch btw.

Maggs the Colonoscopy was very painful, even with the Pethidine and Midazolam. The sister said it was because the surgeon was turning the corner of my colon, hurt like mad.

I am relieved to say I dont have any lumps or bumps growing, his diagnosis was Severe Sigmoid Diverticulosis, which I am assured is very common.

So glad its all over.

I bet you are so excited about Sian's little ball of fluff, I hope she goes on the due date, bless her.

Give her my love and I will be thinking of you both, please let us know as soon as the little one is born wont you. xxxx
