I have decided to get the procedure done - just have to save up for it. I live in uk and want to go to Brussels as it seems cheapest and safest there. Anyone know of the above?

I smoked after my first band was implanted hun, it was a life-saver, cos when I couldnt sit down to a meal I used to smoke instead.

I stayed away from fizzy drinks though, cos they made my chest feel uncomfortable, not worth it.

especially the girl who got banded! She said she wouldn't do it again! does everyone feel like that or was it just her!

Which girl was that, the one with the specs who was home after 5 hours ?

She should have been in bed she would have been far more comfortable. I couldnt believe that she was on the couch!!!

She really seemed fed up before and after.

Its so important, yet the first time I got my date so fast I didnt have time to do it.

Odge, my first band developed a hole so I lost all restriction and put back on the weight I had lost and some.

And yes...I had to pay again, albeit I got a reduction its still, all in all cost me almost £10000.

I didnt have my bands done in Belgium by Dr Chris, although that was my intention when I first joined this site.

My other surgeon came up with a reduction for me which made it cheaper to go with the Spire, otherwise I would have been in Belgium like a shot.

I'm really looking forward to my band but 2 weeks and 6 days seems like miles away!

Do you have any tips for the pre op diet as i hate slim fast!!!!

Have just joined and was wondering if someone could give me Dr. de Bruyne's website address.

Have just recently had my second child (6 weeks ago) and now really need to get a fill again. As I have been out of the scene for almost a year now, can anyone advise if any new fill providers have popped up? Back in the day I could see either Dr. de Bruyne or Dr. Foquet at the consulting rooms in London. Dr. Dovey used to do a Saturday clinic on behalf of Dr. Dilleman's I believe, but I think that clinic has now ceased.

I live in Northamptonshrie (Corby to be precise) so if anyone knows of any fill providers in this area I would be grateful for the info.

I too watched The Hospital last night (great series.) Whilst I understand that they are currently not able to fund ops willy nilly, they are delaying the inevitable for us fatties. As Dr. Super stated, the op costs the equivalent of just one years treatment for diabetes so it really would make financial sense for the NHS to operate on more people before the co-morbidities really kick in and the costs for the NHS start mounting.

When you get the band you will have restriction from the swelling of the op meaning you wont be able to eat large amounts.And when the swllelling goes down you will be able to eat pretty much everything that you could before.When you get your band fills done every month it fills the band up giving you more restriction meaning the the quantity you eat gets smaller and smaller until your eating a very small tea plate of food to make you full.

How much does the WLS group charge for fills? If they offer fills in Birmingham that will be a godsend as I could drive there (will have the wee one with me, so am hoping there is now an alternative to London that I can use.)

I dont know if any one does them that far north .I dont know if you would need to come down to edinburgh or glasgow unless you phone any of your local private hospitals to see if any of them do them.

I got a package off them at xmas that was £275 for six months unlimited fills i think it about £350-£375 now.I think for a single fill it is £85 but you would need to get a consultation first which is £120 and includes a fill.

Ye gaz it was at wls they have moved to next to glasgow green so its closer for me than great western road where it used to be.Im the same as you i feel as if i have got restriction in the place .The water gurgels down and im thinking oh shit its to tight but after 3 glasses of water i relise its ok and in a few days i know there is no restriction .Hows your exercise going?Have you lost any more?Whens your next fill?

that is exactly what happens with me oh well its normal, i do notice i have really got to take my time eating so i think i cant be too far away from it. Excercise going well training about 5 days per week, boxing, running spin class weights its all just fun fun fun, NOT, i am over the 5 stone mark now so quite happy long way to go but i will get there.
